Explains most wonderfully just what is important on our journey home. Required reading for all who are sincere re: their salvation.

Very few times I have read about the death, in a way that makes you realize how fast our days pass, and the possibility of finding ourselves unprepared for it.
St Alphonsus, lovingly, sometimes too strongly, describes the end of our bodies, the need to accept it and how to not be afflicted by it, but rather trust in God's mercy.
I recommend this book with pleasure, to all believers, who want to learn a subject very few talk about.

If more people spent a few moments each day meditating on the certainty of death and eternity, our world would be a much better place! St. Alphonsus is timeless - his advice and teaching never goes out of style. This book is a must read for anyone serious about their eternal salvation.

This is the BEST translation. It is that of Eugene Grimm and comes from part of Volume 1 of the Complete Ascetical Works of St Alphonsus de Liguori. Unfortunately, it doesn't say this in the Kindle version, nor is it the whole of Volume 1.
