Book Description

November 2003
"To Prepare A Face"

"To prepare a face to meet the faces that you meet; There will be time to murder and create..." The Love Song of J. Alfred Prufrock (T.S. Eliot)

The story begins with a murder in an Aspen gondola. The victim, Rex, a nationally known TV talk show host, isn't very nice and there are a more than a few people who are happy he's dead. The police chief of Aspen assigns the homicide case to Detective Sarah Russell. Sarah is a strong, charming, flawed heroine with a humorous, philosophical bent and a warm, wonderful wit which she relies upon as she searches for the killer and personal satisfaction with the help of the erudite, prosecutor playboy, Zachary Hewitt.

This review is from: To Prepare a Face (Paperback)
"To Prepare a Face" catches the imagination from the first page. It immediately transports the reader into a labyrinth of murder and deceit in the city of Aspen. And where better a place to set the forces of good against the very, very bad. The wild ride that Ms. Browne delivers grabs hold and never lets go. A terrific, first rate mystery.
