Best and most complete book on business presentations,
This review is from: How to Prepare, Stage, and Deliver Winning Presentations (Paperback)
Thomas Leech is a nationally known consultant on presentation making. In this book he distills his years of experience into a single volume of useful information. The book is packed with tremendously valuable information to make sure that your presentation is a winner. No stone is left unturned as he goes through a complete system for creating the presentation. Not only are the technical aspects discussed but also gauging your audience and customizing your presentation to meet the needs of the audience. He even covers special problems in presentation such as an international presentation. This is the best book on putting together a successful presentation that I have seen. Whether you are presenting an position internally to change the direction of a business or externally to generate new business this book is extremely useful. For generating additional business and presentations to potential customers I would recommend using it in combination with Tom Sant's book on Proposal writing. A winning presentation and a winning proposal results in winning business.

Thomas Leech's book, How to Prepare, Stage and Deliver Winning Presentations, 3rd Edition, is a 'must read' for any presenter. It applies to all speaking forums - large or small (customers, corporate, Board of Directors, employees and even informal team meetings). The "15 fundamentals" make it easy to learn, practice and refine your skills, resulting in improved, successful presentations.

This is a great book to introduce a complete novice (me) to the concept of giving presentations. I'm a coach and want to start giving workshops to promote myself and am very nervous about getting in front of a crowd. This book is filled with great information on how to put a presentation together and covers all the bases. I feel much more informed and confident after reading this book. My first workshop is next month!

Tom Leech's Book "How to Prepare, Stage and Deliver Winning Presentationshas" served me VERY well over the years with my public presentations, but I recently had the opportuity to pass it down a generation. I had great need yesterday morning during brerakfast and my daughter's stained speech note cards to motivate her to a bit higher level than what the public school system strives for in presentations. Her speech was "spot on" topic, as she had decided to take on the negative effects of the new cultural communication tool, F---book.
I applauded her for exposing some of the really bad experiences and practices looming around F---book, and reminded her she really needed to connect with her audience, her Sophmore English class. But reminded her that taking a negative view of what seems to be a new bodily appendage to any teenager, might not be a pleasant classroom experience (and as any Dad would say, "you are getting graded for this!"). To assist in motivating her I pulled out my dog eared copy of How to Prepare, Stage and Deliver Winning Presentations. The next thirty minutes served to motivate her above what my vocabulary was capable of, to that higher level! Your book was fun to read years ago, but as all great books, serves as a great reference tool that can be picked up and easily motivate anyone trying to ready themselves (and squelch the butterflies) for that most important presentation-the next one. Later that evening, I was greeted by a sixteen year old with, as she said, "some really big news," an A for her speech in English class. Plus great accolades from the audience-her classmates! Thank you Tom Leech

While working on an assignment for a graduate level managerial communications class, I browsed several books on business presentations. Mr. Leech's book was the one I chose to use. It provides a wealth of information, while being very readable. Reading this book added to the knowledge I gained from the class. This book will become a valuble part of my business library.
