Good Straight Forward Book,
This review is from: Be Prepared for the AP Computer Science Exam in Java, Second Edition (Paperback)
This book cuts things down to the bone by telling you what you need to know. It's very straight forward and you can quickly read the book in 1-2 days if you want.
The practice tests are great. The book makes the tests much harder and longer than what you'll see on the actual test. I was more than prepared for the test because of this book.

Useless,
By John (Boston, MA) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Be Prepared for the AP Computer Science Exam in Java, Second Edition (Paperback)
This book is terrible. The answers it gives to questions are often wrong, and it's occasionally incorrect in explaining concepts. I'd recommend the Barron's book over this one any day. After taking the test, I honestly believe I would have scored a 1 or 2 if I hadn't used the Barron's book as well (I got a 5).

Solid,
This review is from: Be Prepared for the AP Computer Science Exam in Java, Second Edition (Paperback)
I scored a 5 on the Computer Science A exam using this book and 5 Steps to a 5 by Kathleen A. Larson and David Levine. I studied both thoroughly, which was helpful because I felt a basic knowledge of Java programming would have been inadequate for the multiple-choice portion of the exam.
