What an amazing book. Very well written, and down to earth ideas. Our jobs as parents are to protect, teach, and lead our children in their development. Because of the importance of this topic, we often avoid things we should be taking advantage of. This books help you find things in our everyday lives to use as lessons. I gave this book only 4 stars because I am only half way done. I am learning tons of information, and cant wait until the time is right to read the other half with our daughter who is 10. For now, we will work on planting the seeds for our discussion that will be coming as soon the opportunity arrises. Definately a book that I would suggest. If there is one topic that will shape your childs future, this one is it. Take the time, and spend the money. I couldn't think of a better investment.

If it is your hope to raise your daughter with Biblical integrity, this book in a "must have!" Reading the second half with my daughter is challenging but well worth it. Although she is somewhat uncomfortable, she has admitted that she is grateful for the opportunity to openly discuss these topics.

I bought this book to read with my 9 yr old daughter. She absolutely loved snuggling on the couch or by our fire pit to read another chapter. I realized I was so busy that I rarely made time just to "hang out" with her. She told me things she was thinking and feeling that she had kept to herself up until now. It definitely opened the door to some conversations that we never would have had if I hadn't bought this book and sat down to read it with her. The book tells first about the physical aspects of adolescence and then goes into other areas that come into play like keeping secrets from parents, and dressing modestly, and picking friends, and talking with character among other things. My daughter has often asked me, "Mom, could we read another chapter of that book?" I highly recommend this book for ages 9-12 for these reasons. It is a valuable resource on multiple levels. What a wonderful and inspired book. I have four daughters and I am so thankful for this tool to help me address their metamorphosis into women. It brings me the mechanism to convey truthful, correct, valuable information to my daughters. Information that will give them the very best opportunity to become great women of integrity, strength, and beauty. I have bought several of these books and will buy several more. Every parent of a daughter needs one...and I give them one.

This is a wonderful easy to read book with your daughter. There maybe some topics that we all find unsettling to talk with our children about, but this book makes it easy to bring up the subject of sex and respectfull discuss how God wants her to conduct herself. I highly recommend it.

The mother of one of my daughter's classmates recommended this book to me. I
purchased it and stayed up until 1am and read the whole thing! Our daughters are in 4th grade and although my daughter hasn't asked too many questions yet this book gives you the perfect tools for when she does.
I WISH I would have had this book when I was young! If every mother read this book with her daughter the world would be a better(at least in terms of morals)place!!! I've told ALL of my friends about it...and if you have boys there's one for them too. Don't let this valuable tool pass you by!

I was highly disappointed with this book. The male companion book, "Preparing Your Son for Every Man's Battle" is absolutely fantastic. I'd recommend it in a heartbeat to every mom and dad of a 10-15 year old. This "Daughter" version is unimpressive, though. It's written by just one author, which limits it's usefulness to just one person's experience. It would have been much, much better if there was a co-author who came from a different background, in order to balance out the advice. Honestly, how much can this woman know if she did everything wrong when she was a kid, and she's only raised one daughter? Not that her advice can't be helpful, but it's so *limited* that it really needs some other voices backing her up. I found the whole tone of the second half to be very holier-than-thou and trust-me-because-i-say-so, which I can't imagine any preteen girl responding favorably to. Read it yourself, mom, and use the example conversations to start your *own* talks with your daughter. Give her lots of reasons behind your advice, but respectfully ask for her opinions too. By this age, you know that you can't just dictate rules anymore.

This book is very affirming and helpful for Moms considering and discussing the topic of sexuality with their daughters. It would benefit any mom, no matter what their religious affiliation, as this is a tough subject for us all. The insight is well thought out offering hints and direction that you can customize to your own style. Great book!

I cant think of anything more important than having those "awkward " conversations with our daughters. This book really helps to make them not so awkward and I love that they get to read their part of the book and help with topics that are relevant to our teens!
