A good resource, but some information is outdated,

This review is from: The Prepublishing Handbook: What You Should Know Before You Publish Your First Book (Paperback)
This is one of the better books on self-publishing. Although it's only about 100 pages, it contains a lot of useful information. I appreciate the fact that this author has actually self-published her own books. You may be surprised to learn that several of the self-publishing books that I read were written by authors that had never self-published a book. The major negative comment that I have about this book that it was published back in 1992. Much has changed since then and some of the information is outdated. This is the reason that I cannot give it 5 stars. I hope that the author is working on an updated edition. If you plan to self-publishing a book, this would be a good book to start with, but I would recommend that you also purchase some other books that have more recent publication dates.

A necessity for writers and publishers,
By Dan Poynter "Author-Publisher-Speaker" (Santa Barbara, CA United States) - See all my reviews (VINE VOICE)
This review is from: The Prepublishing Handbook: What You Should Know Before You Publish Your First Book (Paperback)
The Prepublishing Handbook takes you from that initial dream of being published through writing, production and promotion. Pat Bell has been there several times and it shows. The teacher, the writer and the publisher all show through as she makes getting out your book easy and fun. If you plan to write and/or publish, you need this valuable book.
