Product Description

Progressive International is your source for the widest range of functional, inventive, and fun kitchen tools and great ideas put into practice. Our in-house designers spend hours in the kitchen coming up with ways to improve on a variety of traditional tasks and tools. Established in 1973, our commitment to quality and service allows us to offer a broad selection of quality kitchenware and other household products. There's no need to peel garlic with the Progressive garlic press. Just insert the clove into the well and squeeze the handle. The peel stays in the press while the garlic is extracted from it. Made from aluminum with a non-stick coating, it's always easy to clean. A handy cleaner removes the garlic skin from the holes and stores inside the the handle when not in use.

After the pin from my Zyliss Susi 2 garlic press came out yet again and was irretrievably lost down the drain, I was in need of a new garlic press.

This garlic press works beautifully and there seems to be less garlic left in the press than with my previous model. The cleaner works like a charm, so it is easy to clean and it stores in the press. An added bonus - it is reasonably priced.

I'm not sure what another reviewer was smoking, but this garlic press is indeed made of metal. I would highly recommend it.

I bought this press after seeing my friend's Pampered Chef press and wanting something similar (but for a cheaper price). It works great! Presses garlic cloves without having to peel them, and cleans easily too. I'm so impressed that I just bought a second one for my sister.

I would not recommend this product. It is not like a pampered chef garlic press. The plunger is too small for the vessel, so the garlic is squeezed up the sides instead of down through the intended holes. And, the second time I used it, the two pieces of the press came apart. I can put them back together, but it is not what I expect in quality. Not worth spending the money to send it back. My daughter took my pampered chef press and I want it back!

DO NOT BUY. I used it once and it broke at the hinge. It looks like a cheap casting in the broken section. In addition to the weak hinge, the way the press operates is not well designed.

I have bought more garlic presses than I can count, but none have worked as well as a very cheap one I had 30 years ago. This one is the best of my search to date for the perfect garlic press. It is better than at least 5 others I have tried. My biggest complaint is that it is a little difficult to clean. Using the little green clean tool makes it much easier, but I never seem to be able to find it when I need it. Although I like this garlic press pretty well, it has not ended my search for the perfect garlic press; however, it is much better than many/most more expensive ones I've tried.

I'd always used a "pilon" (wooden mortar and pestel) to mash garlic as I was taught in my Puerto Rican home. I welcomed the idea of not having to bang away every time I wanted to add garlic to something. I was pleasantly surprised at the consistency that the garlic came out when pressed. It was much smoother than when I mashed it. It worked great until the hinge became loose. Now the two pieces come apart every time I put in another piece of garlic. So, I've been bearing it and just holding it a certain way to make it work. I guess if I was a heavy user I wouldn't like it anymore at all.

The first time I used the press it seemed to function properly. After several uses, however, the silver coating/paint came off on the garlic I was pressing... pretty gross and unhygienic. If I hadn't been paying attention my guests would have eaten silver-coated garlic.
