If you read the other reviews...they just about say it right: the book you need if you want to PASS. However, NOT the book you need if you want to do WELL. This book has lots of pages and lots of words, but it doesn't seem to say all that much. It's not detailed enough, and I also think that many of the treatments discussed could use a bit of updating. I wasn't so immpressed.

I bought this book at the beginning of my third year, and I have been finding it to be an exceedingly useful and handy resource for quick reviews and getting up to speed for new rotations. It provides a lot of information in a format that is very accessible, easy to read, and easy to remember. I highly recommend this book for people at all levels of their medical training.

I passed Step 2 with this book. And this is the book I have seen most exam takers brought in the test site.

I found this to be a very good review book. I used a lot of different books in studying for step 1 and step 2. This book reads quickly. It is well organized and presents information in a different format than in First Aid. If you really know your stuff, you could use this as a sole resource in studying for the test. I used this in conjunction with blueprints, boards and wards, and First Aid for step 2. Scored over 250 on all 3 steps.

I think you could probably study this book + First Aid and work some kaplan q-bank questions and do very very well.

Excellent review. Appropriate material.... occassional details lacking but that may only be my opinion of what is important. I've simply added notes!

Specifically, it covers all the topics indicated to be covered in the step two General Instrution/Description guide given to you when you're registered for the exam.

The book has all essential facts that you should know to proceed further. If you did poorly in school, get this book to get back on the track. Easy to read, a starting point.

This book is comprehensive yet easily managed in a short period of time. It breaks subjects down into digestible pieces that are easy to interconnect and memorize. I found this book to provide the most accurate estimation of the material presented on the USMLE Step II. In fact, I have used it for all three steps and have scored highly. I cannot recommend this book more strongly. It is also an excellent review for clinical medicine as well. Buy this book!

EVERYTHING IS RELEVANT IN THIS BOOK. I TRIED MANY BOOKS BUT THIS IS ALL YOU NEED TO PASS THIS EXAM. BETTER THAN OTHER BIGGER BOOKS.

This book is a lot of pages for very low yield. I learned nothing new from reading it. If you want a basic skeleton that you can flesh out with your own notes, then this book has lots of space to for added notes. But it certainly is not sufficient by itself. It tells a little bit about everything in the most basic way. I prefer more concise books that highlight key points or give "buzzwords". From that point of view, "Crush the Boards" is a better book. But for those who want only to pass Step 2, then "Prescription" may suit their needs.

Out of place for USMLE, information deficient, you won't waste money like me in this book. I didn't put for sale because this book didn't give me any assistance for usmle step2 and I belive it will be true for everybody.
