5.0 out of 5 stars Still Going Strong
A great album for all the punk popsters out there! There is a great variety of songs on this album all of which I think are fantastic!
It's along the same lines as the first album but more perfected and very slightly rockier, yet still pop perfect.
Each song has the "busted" appeal and each one is as catchy as the one before!

Air Hostess- Crazy song...

3.0 out of 5 stars Busted hhas an awesome sound
This group is very much like Blink 182, but has its own flair. The song Air Hostess is very good, has good lyrics and music. I would reccomend this group to anyone who likes Blink 182 or music similar to that.

A great album for all the punk popsters out there! There is a great variety of songs on this album all of which I think are fantastic!
It's along the same lines as the first album but more perfected and very slightly rockier, yet still pop perfect.
Each song has the "busted" appeal and each one is as catchy as the one before!

Air Hostess- Crazy song about...well...an air hostess! Its one of the guys favourites on the album. 'A damn good song!' Is James' summary, and one of the best Busted songs ever committed to record. Includes wacky plane sound effects!

Crashed the Wedding- No.1 single about the 3 gorgeous guys crashing the wedding to snag the girl of their dreams. Very energetic and will have you singing along after the first time you hear it!

Who's David - A song about a paranoid boyfriend who is convinced his girlfriend is '...sleeping around the town...because the words going around!' And he wants to know WHO'S DAVID? It starts off reasonably slow but then speeds up at the first chorus and stays with a fast tempo for the rest of the song! It's their 2nd single from this ablum.

She Wants To Be Me- The boys worked with Avril's producers, The Matrix on this one. Yet another song about a psycho girlfriend! Fast and wacky lyrics, about a girlfriend who's turning into the boyfriend! Yes sounds weird, but its wonderfully weird! E.g. '...she used to do ballet, now she's a heavy smoker. She's obsessed with me, now she stands up to pee, and now her stupid games have started taking over'

3am - A soaring, epic, thundering tune of sleepless nights and loveless relationships. 3am cements Busteds ability to knock out solid, emotive rock songs just as easily as they come up with high concept pop epics. One of Charlie's favourites.

Falling For You - James has called this jokey tune Busted's 'p*** about song!' Nice! Matt says 'Our Na-na's aren't quite as good as Blink182, but they're the best British na-na's of 2003!'

That Thing You Do - A Sum 41 style sing along. Very melodic and uplifting with a roaring chorus!

Over Now - One of the slower songs on the album! A bit of a power ballad!

Fake - Matt co-wrote this with Robbie William's ex-writing partner Guy Chambers.

Meet You There - Beautifully harmonic. One of the slower song on the album. Maybe they are really feeling the pressure of relationships being in the spotlight 'Wheres the world that doesn't care? Maybe i could meet you there.'

Why - Charlie co-wrote this with his brother. One of the slower songs on the album. Matt says 'You can't jump up and down to this, but that's no bad thing.' It's very much Charlie's style and influenced by his tastes. Only Charlie sings this one.

Loner In Love - A song about the guys not able to ge the girl they want! 'I'm way to scared to phone her, realise i;m a loner in love...'

Better Than This - Matt co-wrote this with Robbie William's ex-writing partner Guy Chambers. Only Matt sings this one.

Can't Break Thru - James collaborated with cult US rock band Neve with this. Only James sings this one.

Nerdy - Another song about the poor guys not being able to get their girl! 'Just becasue i'm nerdy and my friends are thirty, doesn't mean that i swing that way. You've got complications and a reputation, wouldn't wana get in your way.'

The boys get a lot of criticism from people who call them manufactured...but what's manufactured about three young guys putting together a band, getting a record deal, writing and making their own music and being successful! They are doing exactly what they want to do, they are being themselves and they should stay this way because they have had a great start to their career and they are making great music for a very wide ranged audience.
They made a very refreshing appearance on the pop music scene with their wild and wacky lyrics and adorable cheekiness. Its great to watch them on a pop chart show instead of other boy bands who stand there miming!
Overall i think this album is brilliant, each and every song! It well deserved its place at no.2 in the album chart! Well worth buying!

5.0 out of 5 stars A Present For Everyone, August 17, 2004
This review is from: Present for Everyone (Audio CD)
I don't care what other people throw at me this not being 'real' music.I constantly hear critics about this band not being credible or whatsoever. Busted are the freshiest thing that came around in pop music after ages. Nowadays most pop acts wouldn't recognise a instrument if it came and slap them in their face. This album's a great proof how a pop band can play instruments, write their own (yes) songs and do fresh, catchy music without going down on a level of chessy crap.

My favourite songs from the album are:

She Wants To Be Me - Great tune, great lyrics, Charlie's an awesome drumer. End off.

3am - One of the best songs on the album. Personally I adore the beats and the lyrics. It's not really what you'd expect from Busted but not in a bad way!

Falling For You - I love it!I usualy cacth myself singing it when im in a very good mood and I can even relate to it a bit.Good lyrics again.

That Thing You Do - Dirty lyrics! It always puts a smile on my face and makes me think:'You just cannot be serious!'

Fake - Again,tut-tut, dirty lyrics, great chorus though, its a kinda fast song I'd say.

Meet you There - Great acoustic song and awesome lyrics. My fave line is probably: 'Where's the world that doesnt care? maybe I could meet you there' Classic!

Why - This is, without a doubt the best song in the album and the best Busted song ever.Well, for me anyway. Excellent lyrics I can mostly relate to. I love the way, at the beginning of the song everything's calm and then the guitars come in. And the end when the guitars stop again and it goes:' maybe a chance will keep me high, stop me thinkin wonder why.' Magnificient!

Better Than This - I can relate to almost every word in this song.I love the background of this song. Matt's a great singer and song writer and this song defenetly proves it.

I'm looking forward to the day when people learn to appreciate this band in a way they deserve and realise how young they still are but how much they already achieved. Forget the complaining, that's to admire for.

5.0 out of 5 stars A Present For Everyone - Busted, March 31, 2004
A Kid's Review
This review is from: Present for Everyone (Audio CD)
15 tracks not only written by the Busted boys but about their lives. It kicks off with the typial cheeky Busted song Air Hostess to warm you up and then goes from sad to happy with that ace Busted edge that means you cannot feel down! When I listened to this the first time I thought "Not bad" and the second time I thought "This is quit cool" and by the third time I was sold. Anothe stroke of genius by those talented and, not to mention good looking, Busted boys. Carry on this track Matt, Charlie and James. They rock

5.0 out of 5 stars Busted, May 1, 2004
By A Customer
This review is from: Present for Everyone (Audio CD)
Many people love them, many people can't absolutly stand them. Why? 'Cause most of the so called 'Busted hatters' feel an unbeliavable anger or better say they are profondly offended by the 'skater-punk' image Busted seem to have, thinkin they are ruinin in some kind of way the 'real punk/rock' attitude changin rock or punk music into pop. I really feel, that instead of the constantly categorising bands into genres, some people should listen to the music, listen to the lyrics and don't be so stressed about what kind of stuff they're into. Music is music, you like Busted? Fine. You don't like them? Fair enough! That's all that actually matters.
Talkin about 'A Present For Everyone'; This album has to be one of the most important albums in my life( along with Blink's 182 latest realise) that get me litaraly into music. James, Charlie and Matt give me the power to go ahead to try and learn the guitar and the piano to a good level already for once!:/ Their lyrics mean a lot for me - especially that ones from 'Why' (which I, btw think is the best song on the album and 1 of the best Busted song ever) and help me a lot to deal with things in my life.
So, whether you like the album or not is a personal opinioun but I especially recommend it to those who listened to 'Year 3000','WIGTSF', 'Air Hostess' and think:'Oh my god, what a tallentless pile of crap, they are a JOKE'. Just try the album and listen to the words. You might even end up liking Busted.

5.0 out of 5 stars A Present For Everyone, January 13, 2004
This review is from: Present for Everyone (Audio CD)
This album has got to be one of the best of 2003.It has evolved al ot from thier last album and really shows what true talent those boys have contrary to what people say.
Air Hostess - A true Busted track its all about Air Hostess's and features the line 'i messed my pants when we flew over France..' it is a catchy fast pace song that is really funny and will have you singing it all day.
Crashed The Wedding- Their first single if you havnt heard it all ready then you must be living on another planet! it was inspired by waynes world 2.
Who's David-To be their 2nd single of this album it starts off as a really slow ballad but really gets into its self my favourite lines are 'go live in ahouse of david if you like but be sure he dont know peter john or mike'.
She WAnts To be Me- another funny track about your girlfriend wanting to be you its really funny and very catchy and the last verse is funny.
3am- This is about when you split up and you think you are ok then you find yourself driving in your car at 3am it tells the truth and shows off thier vocal talent.
Falling For You-It sounds like a blink 182 song but it is funny and the sound effects make it even funnier although older fans would like an un edited version.
That Thing You Do-This track is another fast upbeat bopping along track!!.I like this one because the guitar really stands out and the harmony at the end shows of James's voice.
Over Now- This is one of the best tracks on the album at first i didnt like it but you will find your self singing it withou even realising , my favourite part is the opening line 'here we go take a bow because were over now'.
Fake-This song is another funny track about 'faking it' in bed and is a really catchy fast paced song although i dont think the kids will understand it.
Meet You There-This almost has an accoustic sound and is a really sweet song and displays the vocal range in James and Charlie's voices.
Why-From this track you can tell that Charlie's main influences are Emo music as this track is one of the best on the album the lyrics are really heartfelt and it goes so well with the fast pace hard hitting drums in the chorus.
Loner In Love- A quite goos track although to me the music doesnt seem to go well with the lyrics but i do like the song and its sweet and gives us all hope!!:P.
Better Than This-It's Matts solo song and gives him a chance to shine it really shows off his vocal talent and is a track that means somthing to people (unlike cheeky girls tak your shoes off)
Can't Break Through-This is James' solo track and it's brilliant he co-wrote this with NEVE and it really shows off that boys talent for siging, writing and playing guitar. This is one of my favourites and is a tune from the heart.
Nerdy - The guitar in this is just brilliant and each of the vocals are done really well and the chorus is very catchy 'just because im nerdy and my friends are thirty doesnt mean that i swing that way..'.
This album is the best so far and shows that they have grown up and that they can produce some wicked tunes and we wish them all the luck! and hope they do well on their tour!! (im going!!)

5.0 out of 5 stars begging for more!, December 11, 2003
This review is from: Present for Everyone (Audio CD)
What a great second album! A lot diffrent from the first coz it is a lot more rock than pop music, but you can bet it still has Busted's style.
'Who's david' - a good example of some of the catchy tunes.

'Air Hostess' - a good example of some of the hilarious lyrics ('i messed my pants when we flew over France')!

The songs are Busted's view of being young, and the ups and downs of relationships.
Once again they've suceeded in delivering another incredible
album with all the same great humour and and unpredictability that is this great band. Nice one, guys!

5.0 out of 5 stars Perfect for Afternoon CD listening..., August 20, 2009
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Present for Everyone (Audio CD)
Before I even heard this album I looked that the critics reviews and those harsh critics are obviously listening to something different than I did. I am more of a harder based Pop-Punk lover generally...but I listened to this album with an open mind and am pleased I did. Its got a great mix of sounds, catchy, fun lyrics...I recommend it. Totally under-rated from the critics standpoint. Upbeat songs like 'Air hostess' are fun & rockin' and the softer side like the harmony on "Meet you there" was PERFECTLY done for that song. People who actually like music will like this album. The vocals are perfect for the musical style too, nothing seems out of place. Not every record in the world is meant to be a epic like Pink Floyd's The Wall...some are just great music which every song on this album certainly is. Good music for afternoon enjoyment. I liked it and would reccomend it for people who like pop-punk and pop based rock in general. It's a good time. :-)
