5.0 out of 5 stars An essential Reference Guide!
This book gave me ideas and tips on writing busines letters, resumes, biographies, press releases, and everthing else that gets overlooked in my career but that is very important. The explanations are clear and helpful. I do not know how I would have gotten started without this book as my reference guide.

3.0 out of 5 stars Good for Someone Who Doesn't Know Business Basics
Basic info on resumes, letter writing, press releases and bios... mostly the same kind of thing you learn in college but with more focus on the types of people you would contact if you are an artist.

4.0 out of 5 stars Professional Power Tools For The Fine Artists, November 20, 2009
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Presentation Power Tools for Fine Artists (Paperback)
This book contains valuable information and advice for the artist starting a professional career. For those that have been actively engaged in pursuing opportunities, there are a number of procedures that the book suggests and clarifies. I purchased the 2002, 3rd edition of the book. Since then, due to the internet and digital photography, the criteria regarding submittals, portfolios, and follow up procedures have changed. I'm not aware of a newer edition - some of the material in the 3rd edition is outdated. For current guidelines always contact the source you are applying or marketing to.
The book provides examples, statements, bios, press releases, etc., and gives protocol suggestions.
I would recommend this book.

5.0 out of 5 stars Indispensible, September 26, 2006
By
This review is from: Presentation Power Tools for Fine Artists (Paperback)
Full of motivation and clearity. An indispensible source for instruction on how to think about your art career, steps to take to promote your art and keep up with specific kinds of contacts. Great sample letters, formats, and advice to help demistify the business process for artists. An educational guide on elements of marketing, and support for a great buisness mentality for success.
