2.0 out of 5 stars Excellent book
This turned out to be a lighter video than expected.
I would stick with the book which is excellent and ignore the video.

If you have ever sat through a poorly constructed presentation and found it painful this book is for you. You may have like me even given some of these painful presentations in your career. The book is not about making slides or PowerPoint presentations. It is about the creative process and communicating your message and how to use visuals to improve that message. The book gives many ideas for brainstorming, designing and building your presentation. There are many examples of good and poor design, before and after and concepts to get rid of stuff in your presentation that only detracts from your message. There are other resources the book references that can also help. After buying this book I purchased the video that goes along it and found it to be very helpful as well.

I work in a technical field and was scepital how this method of presenation could work with data. I found excellent advise on how to present data, graphs, charts without losing the point in all the detail.

5.0 out of 5 stars a must for any educator!, August 29, 2009

Presentation Zen as a book has been available for some time. This DVD provides a simple overview for those yet to be convinced to invest time and effort into improving their communications.

Every educator needs to see this!
..and learn how to KIS...

Presentation Zen a must have in every school and faculty library

one step further would have every educator use keynote instead of powerpoint...but that may be a step too far...

5.0 out of 5 stars Transformed my presentations, April 26, 2011

Actually, it was the book that I used to transform my presentations. However, I like the DVD even more. It's simpler, more engaging, and gets to the point faster (the first third of the book explains the problems with bullet points and conventional slides--which I was already sold on). I've given copies to a couple of my trainer buddies as well.
I mention this book in my train the trainer courses.

4.0 out of 5 stars Outside the Box Thinking, November 12, 2009

This approach to presentations is both elegantly simple and quite beautiful. It certainly challenged me to take a look at my method of producing high word content slides. Since my health seminars teach "outside the box" concepts it seems that an "outside the box" presentation is only fitting.
