Superb performance and excellent recording,

I didn't realize until after I bought this CD that Jian Wang is the 9 year old prodigy who performed for Isaac Stern in the 1979 documentary, "From Mao to Mozart" (there is a picture of Wang from the film in the CD booklet). I thought he was tremendous in that film, and this performance is all that I could have hoped for to see that young boy blossom into a world-class cellist. He demonstrates skill, technique, and most importantly, maturity; and the recording shows off the inner detail of his playing. Highly recommended!
