Steve Bug and the Poker Flat label have consistently put out records that stop you in your tracks: songs/tracks that take you a second to catch- cerebral rhythms, locked grooves, traditional sounds used in untraditional ways. In other words, they create INNOVATIVE, INTERESTING, QUALITY DANCE MUSIC! The mixing on this release is smoothly done and each one of the 19 tracks has something to love. This is the comp/mix CD that speaks to the true techno/acid/house aficionado.
It can be difficult to sort through all of the record and mix CD releases and tell what's good (there's a lot of garbage out there). Bugnology is one of those mixes you pick up and still listen to five years later- its sounds are timeless (at least in the world of techno) and the quality and originality of each track reaffirms my faith in (and love of) quality electronic dance music. A home run of a release.
