The truth shall be spoken! Swizz Beatz is one of the most overrated producers in the game. The sad thing about it he seems to think that he can rap. He has about as much personality as Pras of The Fugees and his style is about as cool as a severe case of jock itch. Plus his beats are usually mediocre. 4.0 out of 5 stars Swizz Beatz laying it down, January 14, 2003

I had no idea this album even dropped, not really advertised up where I live. But this disc is amazing. Nice to see some more Ruff Ryder crew bring some more albums out. But what blew me away on this disc was the Metallica, Ja Rule, and Swizz Beatz track, We Did it Again! I'm not the biggest fan of Ja Rule, but mixed with Metallica was just mouth dropping.

I highly adding this CD to your collection. If not, your collection would feel VERY empty.

people dont understand the hard work swizz has put in. they just listen to beats of the joint without any understanding of anything. this cd and everthing he has done is straight heat. he is a million dollar man and keeps it poppin. ghetto stories even though not put out alot is a great all around cd. let it be known that swizz has changed the game

5.0 out of 5 stars Swizz Beatz The MONSTER!, December 15, 2002

This CD is a absolute banger! All the trackz are brilliant and even the interludes are great and also funny as hell. Only negative thing is that even though 'We Did It Again' is a good and hard song I feel that it doesn't fit into this album as well as the other songs, which are awesome and I can't name any favorite trackz cause of that. Monster beats and hot lyrics make this album a must have! Swizz Beatz is here 4 eva!

Swizz Beatz really doesnt rap that much on this album, mainly is guest appearacnes, that is what brings this albums up and down. Swizz got guests with different styles form all over the place. The Big Snoop Dogg from west coast, luv u better lover LL Cool J, Young Project Cassidy, Ruff Rider Chick Eve, LOX gangsta Jadakiss, R&B Ron Isley, Down South Bling Bling Baby and his singer TQ, the fast rappin inventor Busta Rhymes, the MURDA Ja Rule, and the High time Holiday Styles. He makes all of them sound good on his album and does very little but produce, which is okay, Bigger Business is one of the hotter songs.

This album has great beats, why wouldn't it. It's produced by Swizz! The ex-Ruff Ryder shows he can do it on his own. I look forward to hopefully a second album. If you like beats on DMX, Eve, or LOX albums......get this one!

Swizz Beatz Presents G.H.E.T.T.O. Stories Part One

Swizz Beatz debut album was very well put together I thought. It was a nice blend of rap and R&B. He has the best of both worlds, everyone from Styles P to Mashonda and even Ron Isley. When I bought this CD I was surprised to see a track from Shyne. I thought that it was a well done track and I would like to thank Swizz Beatz for having Shyne on the album. Finally Shyne gets some shine. And Good Times by Styles is defiantly a club banger. And Swizz shows he can stand on his own two feet with Ghetto Stories. And he strengthens his skills with a little help from Bounty Killer on Guilty. But the only thing Swizz Beatz is guilty of is being a great producer. I was also highly impressed with Bigger Business (Swizz Beatz, Ron Isley, P. Diddy, Baby tha #1 Stunna, Jadakiss, Snoop Dogg, Cassidy and TQ). But this album also has flaws in it. I absolutely hated We Did It Again and Big Business disgusted me. I wasn't that fond of Gone Delirious. But I think that we'll be hearing some more G.H.E.T.T.O. stories from Swizz Beatz. In the end I give a 4.

2.0 out of 5 stars Keep your G.H.E.T.T.O. Stories to yourself ,Swizzy!, July 12, 2007
This review is from: Presents G.H.E.T.T.O Stories (Audio CD)
The truth shall be spoken! Swizz Beatz is one of the most overrated producers in the game. The sad thing about it he seems to think that he can rap. He has about as much personality as Pras of The Fugees and his style is about as cool as a severe case of jock itch. Plus his beats are usually mediocre. The Good: Shyne's solo joint, Shyne is cool and Lil Kim gives a surprisingly good perfomance on Delirious. Birdman's Let Me See Ya Do Your Thing featuring Yung Wun is also a notable cut.
The Bad: Whoever told Pras oops I mean Azz Cheekz he can rap is either deaf or on base. Ghetto Stories is Swizz solo and he drops some Pras-type clunkers on that track also he seems to have problems rapping over his own wack beat. Guilty featuring Bounty Killer would have easily been a standout until Swizz Cheeze decided it was cool to bust some horrendous verses. His gorgeous wife Mashonda drops a tepid joint featuring LL Cool J(who makes the track worser than it has to be with some mushy rhymes)called Ghetto Love. Endalay featuring Busta Rhymes is so forgettable that I cant describe it. Eve's commercial Island Spice is the best song she's ever made in recent years and its still a dud. The Salute Me remix featuring Nas, Fat Joe and Cassidy is weak and I never thought I'd see the day that Cassidy has a better verse than Nas in a song. Styles P's Good Times is just bland and why its on here when its also on his first album is anybody's guess. The Ugly: Jadakiss's solo joint Big Business was lackluster by itself so the ultrawack remix with P Giddy, Birdman, Snoop and Cassidy was pointless to say the least. Nore proves that he is as tired as they come with dull N.O.R.E. with a hook that is just as elementary as the hook for his hit Superthug. The worst song on the album hands down is the horrid rap/rock&roll infusion We Did It Again with Metallica and Ja Rule as guests. Ja Rule's signature screaming as well as Metallica's over-the-top screaching on the track makes you hate rap/rock infusions with a passion. All those skits on the album especially the Alien skit are stupid beyond belief and they make listening to the album a difficult experience. Bottom Line: Swizz Beatz's G.H.E.T.T.O. Stories is one of the worst rap releases in 2002. Hackneyed beats, weak guest spots coupled with the fact that Swizz Beatz cant rhyme for diddly squat are all recipes of disasterous proportions. Swizz should just stick to making beats because quiet as kept he is the worst rapper next to Timbaland(Timbo gives him a run for his money though). Id rather listen to Pras's dreadful Win Lose Or Draw album than this mess. Its that bad!!!

I am satisfied with G.H.E.T.T.O. Stories by Swizz Beats. The whole cd is solid with the exception of the annoying intro skit, and the LL Cool J song. Swizz displays his unique style with his beats and his rhymes. Although it lacks the one song that will make your eardrums bleed, G.H.E.T.T.O. Stories is a good cd and it is worth the money.
