4.0 out of 5 stars J Wess Hits it out da park with his debut
J Wess, operating out of Melbourne australia, has put together a hip hop album debut thats off the chian baby, with beats and hooks that just grab you and refuse to let go. He is a desperatley needed injection into the local hip hop scene here in Australia.

Tracks that get the repeat treatment are 2,4,6 and 9, but its a cut that plays all the way through.

Get it! You...

3.0 out of 5 stars auzzie/american hip hop ?
j wess presents tha L.P

J wess puts down some dope beats on this debut album, the lyrics are not anything they shuld be bragging about but i think he has brought with him from america some good influence of hip hop/R&B to auzzie culture. If you are fan of the first 3 singles in which he bought out before the album, then i am sure you will enjoy it.There is a good...

j wess presents tha L.P

J wess puts down some dope beats on this debut album, the lyrics are not anything they shuld be bragging about but i think he has brought with him from america some good influence of hip hop/R&B to auzzie culture. If you are fan of the first 3 singles in which he bought out before the album, then i am sure you will enjoy it.There is a good mix of hip hop as he brings out the more hardcore beats such as "roll call part 1" in which he brings in tek, theory, lipz and digga to bust out to it."Give me a chance" gives a chance to digga and lolly that female/male collaboration rap can work in which this case it does as this song is one of the best. Other good songs bar the singles are mistakes, reelin and if you like slow R&B then let me in is also a good song. One bad fall to the album is that it has 5 skits in which its only a 11 track album but overall he did a good job and i am looking foward to his next one.

5.0 out of 5 stars Pretty cool, September 10, 2004
This review is from: Presents: Tha Lp (Audio CD)
I love this album, there are some great tracks on here. I ain't feeling the skits though, I would have prefered more tracks but overall, a great album.
Best tracks in my opinion are:
Give Me a Chance
Mistakes
Bang This
Let Me In
And my favourite track off the entire album:
Roll Call Part 1
The album is worth buying just for that track. Digga, Tek, Theory and Lipz are incredible, looking forward to hearing more from them in the future.

Anyway, overall a pretty tight album - go buy it!
