For the past 10 years I have worked with several craft supply manufacturers, designing projects, writing books and publishing my designs in several magazines. As a result I have enjoyed experimenting with a lot of different types of tools and products which allowed me to rediscover an old passion for creating layers and textures with acrylic mediums and a variety of other materials.
My inspiration comes from everyday living and focusing on the beautiful world of nature that surrounds all of us. Although most of my new art is abstract, there may be a subtle sense of something familiar, a landscape, a grove of trees, or other forms or colors from the natural world.
I like to spontaneously manipulate the paints and other mediums on the canvas, allowing just enough time for each layer to dry before continuing to the next step.
My artwork incorporates several processes of previously developed experiments in creativity, each telling its own unique story. The subtle hint of recognizable objects encourages the viewer to move in closer, or take a step back, to discover their own personal interpretation and connection.
