Noorana claims to have studied Islam for 20 years, which maybe the case. However, I think she is choosing to ignore bits and pieces of Islamic law and the hadiths that she doesn't agree with.

1. Islam against slavery? How do you explain the Arab Muslims in Sudan who have enslaved and committed genocide of 300,000+ and counting native blacks.

2. The Islamic idea of democracy is to put a higher tax upon non-muslims, this is written in the Quaran and the hadiths. Islamic law also dictates that those who slander Muhammed or Islam should be punished by death. Both of these practices are in use in Islamic governments today. That doesn't exactly sound like a free society or a democracy to me.

3. Rape levels in Islamic countries are lower because they are almost impossible to prove. Islamic law dictates that four males must witness the rape, and furthermore must witness actual penetration.

4. In regards to birth control, one of the hadiths relates a story about Muhammed. Muslims had invaded and taken over a village, and as was the practice, the Muslim soldiers were planning on raping the women of the village who's husbands had just been slaughtered. Some of them asked Muhammed if 'coitus-interuptus' was acceptable when they raped the women becuase they didn't want to impregnate them. Muhammed didn't object to the rapeing of the women, however he did object to coitus interuptus, becuase that would displease Allah.

Islam is a convert or kill expansionist cult. It is most certainly not a 'religion of peace'.

This book is simply one of Tulbure's cars for getting more money. He has left a wide wake across the Internet in mercilessly spamming both his books and his websites.

Then he drops them like a watermelon and leaves the members with the bag.

His books are sophomoric at best. His doctorate and educational credentials are a figment of his imagination, and HE CREATED HIS OWN FOLLOWING! People think Amazon members adore him, but his testimonials were by him, and his fans were him with out screen names.

I've tried asking him what his credentials are on his various websites, and all that comes of it is a banning. He simply can't stand by what he says.

I recommend that before you even THINK about buying this book that you do a Google search for "Solomon Tulbure" and press the "I'm feeling lucky" button. A plethora of information about this internet fraud can be found there.

Be wary.

Obviously Mr. Tulbure has spent not a moment with an Arab or a Muslim person nor a second in the Middle East. I would not pay a penny to read this trash. The review by his "rent-an-editor" should be enough for any serious-minded adult to realize that this is the work of an egomaniacal child. He is so full of himself that he's actually paid XLibris at least $500 in the hope of further spreading this self-serving defamation of an entire race. Use your hard-earned money to buy Islam by the enlightened Karen Armstrong instead.

He thinks so highly of himself that he goes by the name of "Maximus Illuminati". "Minimus Illiterati" I'd say. Surely his writings must be a ploy to see just how many people he can dupe into buying them.

The tragic truth about this book is that it was written by a man who obviously has nothing worthwhile to say and many hours to say it. I purchased this book as source material for a paper and wasted my money. There is nothing substantive to use. I hope I can sell it again but I fear this will be impossible if word gets out about the book before I do.

First, the author is not a doctor. His academic credentials are as false as his leadership in an organization he has no real knowledge of. Solomon Tulbure was a very mentally disturbed man. I say WAS because he is now deceased. Solomon claims to have been made the Grand Master of the Illuminati through communications from the Illuminati via a OUIJA board. His accounts of the founding of the Illuminati is completely contrived as well as the nature of modern Freemasonry. I have been a Freemason for almost 20 years. The organizational structure Solomon Tulbure related in his book is fictitious. he could have researched it publically but he was to lazy. At any rate, there is no Illuminati behind this book or Solomon Tulbure. He wrote a book, published it through a vanity publisher and sold it on Amazon.com simply to make money. This was only 1 of several internet related scams created by this man including one stock trading scam. In the end, he jumped off an overpass into oncoming traffic in Knoxville, KY to avoid the legal repercussions of his fraudulant actions. This is not my opinion. This is a fact that can be verified online. The obituaries are a part of the public record. Yes, the man is now deceased. There will be no more copies of this book or any of the others Solomon Tulbure has written.

Tulbore is nothing but a thief. Most of the materials he has used in this book are stolen from other writers particularly from Dr. Ali Sina who writes for faithfreedom.org. Tulbore has zero credibility. He is a desperate man trying to make a buck. He is just a con man

The author is cruel but honest!

I have researched his claims and points and he speaks the truth. I only give it a 4 star rating because the book could have done with a better title and without the obvious hatred. However, the author makes not attempt to hide his hatred for the religion which is responsible for harming his country so much.

The book is a must read if you have a strong stomach.

Indeed, as Dr. Tulbure points out, Islamic nations have not been very peaceful, even among the different sects of Islam. Islam is nearly inseparable from Arab culture, and respect for human rights is almost nonexistent in either.

Unlike Christianity, Islam has not had an era of Reformation or Enlightenment. Dr. Tulbure argues that there are no moderate or liberal (as we understand the term) sects of Islam and that all Muslims believe in a literal interpretation of the Koran...

This aversion to free speech should not come as a surprise to anyone familiar with the history of Islam. Mohammed was a shrewd politician and brutal warlord in addition to being Islam's prophet. He married the religion of Islam to Arab nationalism and culture to such a degree that people from non-Arab nations adopt Arab culture when they adopt Islam. Islam in turn is married the theocratic politics of Islamic Law, which is inherently totalitarian. Islamic Law controls every facet of a person's life. It is against democracy, free speech and other basic, human freedoms. Throughout the Muslim world, heresy, blasphemy and apostasy are crimes punishable by death.

This in turn, is entirely consistent with the interpretation of Jihad being that of "Holy war" against all non-Muslims. In Islam, Muslim men are encouraged to kill or be killed for Allah, and taught that infidels are the "party of Satan" and have no rights. Muslims are even told to reject their own parents or children if they are non-Muslims. In Muslim countries in which infidels who do not openly criticize Islam are allowed to live, non-Muslims must pay a humiliation tax. This book also explains Islam's bloody history, including the destruction of the Egyptians and Persians, as well as the recent violence between the Shiites and the Sunnis. Dr. Tulbure argues that not only is Islam not peaceful, but that there has been so significant Muslim contribution to humanity.

The main appeal of Islam is the promise to men of sex in the afterlife, as well as giving men complete control over women. Islam sees women as evil creatures out to tempt men into sin. In marital relations, a wife's only right is to be fed and clothed by her husband but only on the condition that she obeys him. Just as the relationship of Allah to Muslim men is that of master-slave, the marital relationship in Islam is also a master-slave relationship to the point where the concept of sexual consent is not recognized. A wife has no right to refuse sex to her husband, and the Koran encourages men to beat wives who do so. Even outside the marital bed, consent means very little. When a man rapes a woman, or even a little girl as young as six, it is she who is punished, often by being burned to death. Birth control is forbidden.

A child as young as nine is considered a "woman", and Muslim women do not have the right to choose their husbands. A Muslim woman gets one husband, while men can marry many wives. It is claimed that Muslim women have the right to a divorce, but they must show "just cause" to a male judge who usually denies her request. The testimony of a woman in a divorce hearing, or any other court case, is worth half that of a man's, and she cannot introduce evidence. A man can get a divorce for any reason, and automatically gets custody of the children. In addition, a woman can only inherit half of what a male relative would.
Our naivety regarding the Muslim world, as well as our dependence on Arab oil has blinded us to the danger Islam and Arab culture poses. We must continue to respect religious freedom, yet at the same time recognize that one person's religious freedom should never be at the expense of the basic human rights of another person. This book reveals the ignorance of President Bush on the subject of Islam, as well as the subject of stem cell research discussed in the last chapter.

I am a phd who works in small bioinformatics firm and I am also in a jazz-fusion band. I consider myself a very Western man. With that said, I consider this book to be one of those rare occasions when someone has NOT said something brilliant but has simply blurted out what many people know/have known to be the simple case but have never had the guts to proclaim. Simply a look at Islam from a Libertarian(enlightened) view-point. Nothing more, nothing less. (btw- The good Dr at faithfreedom knows about this book and hasnt protested...hello...)
