1.0 out of 5 stars Not the Original!
If you are simply tring to research this unprecidented moment in space exploration, this photo-copied book will help you. I stress the item for sale is a B&W copy-no glossy pages, no color photos.

In my opinion, the item offered here is a cheap, inferior product.

This book describes the hardware of NASA's STS ( Space Transportation System ) space shuttle program. Each part of STS is described in detail; orbiter, SRB boosters, External Tank, etc ...
Superb book, in fact the first Volume of the five Volumes " Report of the presidential commission on the Space Shuttle Challenger Accident". This first volume is unnumbered but it's the best of the five as it's printed on 256 glossy pages and it has color photos of the STS 51-L crew, challenger on the pad, ice on the launchpad, lots of photos of ignition, launch & break-up of the orbiter. Also photos of the recovery of over 40% of the STS 51-L hardware. The book has the frontpage of the Rogers commission ( copie ) showing the autographs of Dr Neil Armstrong, Dr Sally Ride, Dr Richard Feynman, Gen Chuck Yeager, ...
The book describes the events leading up to the Challenger mission and pressures on NASA to launch on that cold January morning ... It's 8X10 in size and an important book for everyone interested in the Shuttle program. Volumes II to V are extremely rare ... The completed series was also limited available as Hardcovers!
