Imagine being in the running for president ! It must be one of the biggest thrills in the world to know you could be the next one to be in charge of an entire country!

And if you are female and beat out all the men for the race to the poles it is an even greater achievement!

So when Helen is in the running to finally grasp her dreams no one around her even begins to suspect that behind the great responsibly there is still a woman like any other everyday woman, she has needs, fears, hopes and dreams and even with all the company around her could still feel like the loneliest person in the world.

In this prequel novella to much too awesome Race to Kill which was super hot and all action packed, we get to have a look into the life of the woman in the running to rule the country and just what she hides behind the designer suits, or rather who she wants to strip off the designer suits for.

The character of Helen was undoubtedly amazing, it takes real guts for a woman to aim for being the president of any country and when the author gives a little more into her past it showed her as even more amazing and I found myself sitting upright and going " You rock , I am not sure I would ever be able to get over that!"

The character of Sean was kind, caring and the perfect best friend material even up till the relationship moves into sexual territory. Always thinking as clearly as possible and trying to asses the damage in order to protect Helen. It made him even more sexy as the author let him really show he his protecting the woman herself and not just the possible future president.

Quick and easy to read, nice flow and great dialogue. A terrific message of courage and determination pays off in the long run.

This novella is the prequel to Rachel Kall's novel Race to Kill. I have read all of Rachel Kall's books and I loved this one. This is the story of Governor Helen Riley and her pursuit to become the first female President of the United States. This is a very easy read that flows beautifully. Since it is a novella, it is shorter than a traditional novel. The author does a fantastic job bringing a full story to life in this short format.

My only criticism is that it is not longer! I want to read more about Helen Riley and her lifelong friend/love Sean Mackay!

Rachel Kall has a runaway hit on her hands. Her new Love and Scandal series is smoking hot and is a fun behind-the-scenes look at romance, intrigue, and politics. Her newest entry is Presidential Pursuit This is a prequel novella to Race to Kill (book 1), which was reviewed here .

If you read Race to Kill and were curious about the nation's first woman president, then you'll love Presidential Pursuit This short novella tells the story of Helen Riley as she seeks her party's nomination for office. As a single woman of 45, her detractors begin to spin rumors about her, but she has a longtime loyal friend, Sean Mackay, who is able to support her.

However it's clear that Helen wants more than friendship with Sean - and it seems he may feel the same way. Could these friends since grammar school discover love on the campaign trail - while keeping under the spotlight? And who is threatening Helen and what secrets does she have?

If that sounds like a lot of plot to squeeze into the novella form, it is, but Kall does so in a way that makes this a quick and suspenseful page-turner. You'll want to add both novels in her series to your TBR shelf if you have a hankering for solid romantic suspense
with a political edge.

Rachel Kall's Presidential Pursuit gets my vote for a HOT romantic and suspenseful quick read. I'm looking forward to the next installment in this series!

A quick read although one spot almost got a little dry with politics, the author managed to add enough intrigue and romantic suspense to keep it flowing and the pages turning. It was a fun little story to tie in with the novel Race to Kill and the love story was very satisfying.

I love Rachel she is an amazing author. I loved this book so much, the story line was intriguing and interesting. I fell in love with the characters. oh Sean I hope Rachel writes more about him. I do like the fact that Rachel wrote about a female running for president. This book was fast paced and I really didnt want it to end. I would highly recommend this book and all Rachel's other books. Great job!!! <3

If you have already read Race To Kill then you would have already Helen as the female President of the United States. In this we go back to the time that she was running to be her parties candidate to run for the presidency.

Helen has been in love with her best friend for years. Only problem is that she has been too afraid to act on those feelings. He has lost his wife years before and is now a major part of her campaign team. What she doesn't know that Sean has also felt the same about her for years also.

Like Race To Kill you again get the right balance of suspense and romance. This time it is the very early build up to the events that occurred in Race To Kill. You have the conflicts between the two running candidates and suspicious events that occur while on the campaign tour but best of all you have the increasing intimacy between the two leads. I have to admit that at the beginning I just wanted to bash their heads together! Reading both of their thoughts with regards to one another it was obvious that they should have been together.

The thing that I really liked about the story was Helen's character developing from the brief glimpse that we had had of her, the fact that she was not willing to win peoples votes by using the demons from her past (you'll have to read it to find out what they are), was a refreshing change for a politician, if not perhaps slightly unrealistic!! If only politicians were really like that!!

All in all a great prequel to Race To Kill. The books can be read, in my opinion, in either order, or indeed as stand alones but I would imagine if you read one you'll want to read the other!!

Please note I was given a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.
