5.0 out of 5 stars A unique book - what if today's health was the standard then, January 9, 1998

This review is from: Presidential courage (Hardcover)
This is a unique book, providing valuable insights into the health of our country's chief executives. It is an interesting mixture of the bizarre - how a president had a rubber prosthesis fitted in his mouth and his wife supposedly never discovered it - to Old Hickory's forever being tomented by dysentery. It makes you wonder how many of those presidents that have been judged as truly 'great' would have been denied the highest offcie of the land had we placed their helth under the 'microscope' we place our current 'candidates' for this post. Consider what Thomas Eagleton went through in 1972 when he admitted to mental illness (successfully treated) when George McGovern selcted him for his vice-Presidential running mate.(Only a 'hearbeat' away)

3.0 out of 5 stars An Oldie, February 13, 2007
This review is from: Presidential Courage (Paperback)
The web page describing this book could be more forthcoming. The book was published in 1980 and is being re-issued now. Downgraded to three stars for hiding information.
