Book Description

September 15, 2010
Life is about change... As human beings we're always changing, growing, transforming and transitioning our lives...but whether it is our circumstances that lead us to take a new path or a desire to pursue a goal or dream, as women we learn that we have the power to choose who we want to be, what we want to do, and what kind of life we want to lead. These words introduce Press Pause Moments: Essays about Life Transitions by Women Writers, a collection of beautifully crafted tales by 36 women writers reflecting upon change, adversity and celebration. The essays covering a diverse range of topics such as marriage, divorce, widowhood, parenthood, infertility, sexuality, surviving abuse, facing a medical crisis, moving a home, changing careers, and obtaining a degree are written by women who have celebrated, mourned, taken control and transformed through the transitions of their lives. As women we look at life transitions in many ways, sometimes one layered upon the other. However, when we press pause, as will happen when reading these stories, inner voices become quiet long enough to pay attention to what is going on within us and around us. We learn that true press pause moments are those points in time when we fully realize the need to make change happen, and become greater than our existing selves.

5.0 out of 5 stars press purchase now October 10, 2010
Format:Paperback
I am honored to have my work included in this collection of essays by and about women who took on the challenges they faced with honesty, integrity, and courage. Courage is about being faced with fear and not being frozen. There is something to be gained by reading these essays, as we will feel not so alone in the world when we do.
There is a cool-lective consciousness among women who share their experiences and this book provides an entrance into that world.

4.0 out of 5 stars Press Pause Moments: Stories of Lasting Change October 28, 2010
Format:Paperback
Press Pause Moments: Essays About Life Transitions by Women Writers, an anthology on life transitions by women writers compiled by writer and editor Anne Witkavitch, is a compelling and intimate glimpse into turning points in the lives of women writers. Women rarely take time to record their reflections on change and adversity, much less celebrate those times. Press Pause Moments and a cup of coffee is a great way to connect with other women writers and the life-changing challenges of women in general.

5.0 out of 5 stars A View of Womankind October 3, 2010
Format:Paperback|Amazon Verified Purchase
Press Pause Moments is a magical anthology. The editor Anne Witkavitch has brought together women authors whose essays express the core of womankind's life experiences and varied perspectives. I am delighted to have two essays included in this selection and especially pleased that Anne ended the book with the feelings expressed in my essay "Dancer's Lane". My congratulations to Anne and all contributing authors on an unforgettable reading experience.
