To begin with, the rules are simple... it takes only a few minutes to get the point across so you can get on with the game.

The main point of the game is to respond on paper to a pickup line read aloud. The responses get shuffled around and everyone has to read a response aloud in their best sexy-voice. The judge decides whose answer was the best and they get points. First person to 10 wins.

It is VERY adaptable: the first time we played, we used the all the pieces-- glasses, kisses, olives, special paper, everything. The second time, we dragged out notebook paper and just passed the answers around no longer keeping score of who was "winning".

We found that this game can be played in two ways (though it is not in the rules): to react positively to the pick up line-- with a pickup line of your own, or to react negatively to the pick up line, thus trying to get rid of the person trying to pick you up. We would agree when we decided to make a round a "Kiss Off" round-- and we would try our best to come up with an answer that would make someone run the other way. It really made the game fun and versatile!

This game is for adults. The dirty answers that naturally come to mind while playing make it inappropriate for people under that age of 18. It can be pretty hilarious trying to read in a sexy-voice to a family member, so keep that in mind-- some families would not find this funny, others would think it is HILARIOUS.

This is a nice party game. It's a great way to get to know your friends better and maybe hit on that person you have a secret crush on!

We played this with a group of 8 and had a ton of laughs. This definitely has replay value. In other words, it's not one of those games you play once and then toss in the closet.

I played this with coworkers, new friends, and old friends, and we played for hours! As people settle into the nature of the game, responses get more and more clever and outrageous, and we couldn't want to see how creative we could get on the next round. There's something about hitting on each other that just brings people together, in the platonic sense or otherwise.

I got this game thinking it'd be a fun "naughty" game for couples, but it really doesn't fall into that category. As another reviewer stated, the "naughtiness" really depends on the people you're playing with.

One player is the "Pick-up Artist" for a round, and draws a card, reading one of the two pick-up lines (examples being "Hey, what's your nickname?" and "What did they write under your yearbook picture?"). Other players think of a response, write it on a piece of paper & stick it in an "olive", which are then placed in a tumbler & mixed. Each player (beside the Pick-up Artist) takes an olive & reads the response. The "best" response (as judged by the Pick-up Artist) gets a "kiss" token. The first player to get 10 "kiss" tokens wins the game.

All in all, it's not a bad game, but it doesn't live up to the "adult" category. Also, it definitely depends on the creativity of the players, and the ability to come up with witty responses on-the-spot!

Yea, so i brought the game to a get together and the first thought was 'boring!'. but then we tried it and it was so much fun. we ended up laughing all night.it does bring out the daring in you. It is a good game 'IF' you have the right people.

We had a great time right from the beginning-- you can get thru the rules real fast. The stuff that it comes with is cool, not a board game really--but I like board games, don't get me wrong. It feels very adult in a good way. And it's just a lot of fun--you don't have to know anything, just try to come up with some funny answers to some straight pickup lines so anyone can play with anyone else. We played it with married people and single people together and that's totally fun--it works fine like that, too. I'd say a very good get for yourself or as a gift.

I have played this game several times in a large group. We were randomly assigned a team (4 per team = 24 adults), this was an excellent way to meet new people or get better acquainted. A team effort to come up with the sexiest/dirtiest/wittiest answer for your team. Interesting to see different responses to the same question! One answer was such a classic, it has been relived time and again for the past 2 years!!! You must know your group and ensure all are of the same sense of humor or this game could be awkward. I would buy this game as a gift, for the right people.

Pick up Lines is a great party game. It's hilarious to play, and always a favorite at game night. Im 26, and It's great for that 20-30 crowd, but I'm sure I will be playing it well in to my 30's as well.

This is a very fun game that is best played with 4 - 6 players, it says you can play with teams but we found it harder this way. Definitely an excellent and very funny game to play with those that are easygoing, don't take things too seriously and are not easily offended. The only down side we could find to this game was that you can very quickly run out of the little red papers that they provide you to write your answers on. It's nice to have red paper since it is the "pimento" for the olive in your martinti glass so we just cut up some red paper into the necessary size. It'd be nice if it was in a large pad of paper or if the game came with more than one small pad but a small price to pay for such a funny game. We have played it 3 times now for at least an hour and a half each time and still have never seen the same questions come up. Highly suggested for the fun, wild party goers !

i bought this game on sale and thought we would give it a try it was the most fun game ever i even went and got one for my nephew cause he enjoyed playing it so much great for a party night of games we played for hours and there was always something new it is an awesome game i would recommend it to everyone who likes to have fun
