4.0 out of 5 stars Great game for a Pokemon fan
My 6 year old son is a HUGE Pokemon fan and loves the game "Guess Who". So when we saw this, we def had to purchase it. He loves it! It is a little more challenging than Guess Who, epecially for a child you can't read but after a few games my son was able to figure it out.

3.0 out of 5 stars Fun but lots of little pieces to keep track of..
We bought this as a Christmas gift. Kids think it's fairly fun, as they are into Pokemon right now but it is a pain to assemble. The slide in face pieces easily fall out and get lost; it would be much better if the picture came stuck on the flip up piece so it wouldn't slide out.. which would also make for quicker assembly. Also the Challenge cards are so tiny and flimsy...

My kids are huge pokemon fans so this game was a big hit!!! Guessing pokemon, colorful pictures of their favorites - they love it! My only complaint against it is how fragile it is. The plastic holders that contain the pokemon pictures are less than durable when excited hands are opening and closing them all the time. And the cards themselves are not sturdy, but just thin cardboard. I know it won't be long before the cards are all bent up. Oh, well, we will enjoy it while it lasts.

One of the reasons I picked this game out was because my son, the Pokemon fan, has Asperger's Syndrome and occasionally has to have incentive to interact with other people. This game is a great way to encourage that because it requires two people to play. He has to think conceptually and both ask and respond to questions. He has to take turns and follow the rules of the game. The fact that he gets to use his extensive knowledge of Pokemon makes it very fun for him as well.

5.0 out of 5 stars Love Pokemon, love this game!, September 23, 2009

Had to have this as soon as I saw the link...my hubby and I are huge Pokemon fans and play it when there's nothing to do...as fans, aplogies to parents who have to ask questions like "Does your Pokemon have four legs?", it's definately more fun for those who know their Pokemon, not just by what they see on the board, but can ask questions like "Does your Pokemon gain a second type when it evolves?" or "Did/does Ash have this Pokemon in any form?" But it also allows you to learn more about Pokemon as you go if you are a newcomer playing with a longtime fan (your kid!)

Only issue is that there are only two different boards, with only 48 Pokemon. With 493 Pokemon in existence (as of the Diamond & Pearl era), there could have been a lot more board options!!!

4.0 out of 5 stars Fun game for a 4-7ish boy., June 12, 2009

My son loves Pokemon, so of course he loves this game. I wasn't sure he was going to be able to understand how to play (he is 4), but he caught right on and loves to play it. It is the same as "Guess Who?" but with Pokemon characters. I agree with the others who wrote that the cards do slide out of the holders if you are not careful (and a bit even if you are careful) ... but generally this just takes a quick adjustment. All the cards are just a light cardboard, so if you are playing with a rougher kid, I'm sure these are all toast in a matter of days! The holders are durable, however, and the game is fun. We have definitely got our $13 out of it and nothing has been ruined yet for us.

This is a great product. Teaches the children to look for differences on the characters that look similar to be able to narrow it down further. I personally separated the cards into snack baggies to be able to keep them from getting lost so as long as your little one doesn't fling them around the house its great. Teaches thinking skills to come up with questions, study skills to look at the cards and narrow them down its fun and educational. Hope this helps!

i love this game. you sould buy it. i win off my mom and dad they are not pokemon lovers.

Parental comment: there are a variety of such seach and identify games. They feature different characters or sybols. excellent exercise to develop short term memory. great vehicle to build deeper interaction with the parents. We never play to let isabella win. we play a fair game to WIN. this game is better than most in leveling the playing field.

I bought this game for my nephew who never heard of the guess who game but loves pokemon =/
Its fun for him, even for me since I play the game with him.
It comes with two games eac with different pokemon in it.
I paid $10 for this game and so far he feels its worth every penny. Downside is that you can misplace the card pieces and they can easily fall out.

2.0 out of 5 stars flimsy flimsy flimsy, October 12, 2010

We like Guess Who as a game, and the kids are big Poke-heads, so this should be perfect? Wrong. The cards are very thin and small, and difficult for anyone (child or adult) to slot into the flimsy plastic holders. The game comes with two sets of cards to keep things interesting, but given the length of time it took to insert one set, the second set is never going to see the light of day. IF the windows still had solid plastic backs and IF the cards were on actual cardstock rather than paper, this would be a decent game. As it is, PLEASE don't bother, particularly not for a child under 9 or one with low frustration tolerance.
