Aesthetics are important. The Signature Series Backgammon set was designed with the look and feel of the game in mind, and it shows. The sturdy, nicely painted 11-by-15-inch wooden board, the clear plastic dice, the blue and brown glass tokens, and the wooden dice cups are all attractive and well made. The board is hinged and has magnetic strips to hold it together in storage. Rules aren't included, and the set is more for avid players than beginners. --Rob Lightner
