I loved playing Chinese Checkers when I was a kid... this new game sparked my interest again, and the idea of "the twist", or turning the board gives the game a lot more depth. Highly recommended.

Verified Purchase
I bought this game for a friend since not only could we play normal Chinese Checkers, but we could also play it with a new twist. There's a few things that I wanted to point out that I didn't notice before I made the purchase.

1) This version of Chinese Checkers is missing several holes for the corners of each section. If you look closely at the picture, there are two holes that are missing for each section. This makes it more difficult to plan moves in general. What became frustrating was that several times we thought of moves for our pieces that weren't possible due to these holes being gone.
Our solution: Drill the holes into the board.

2) Each turn requires a person to draw a card to see if the game board will be turned. What disappointed me was that it shows an arrow pointing in one direction (left) and every time you draw the turn card, you are supposed to turn it left. I thought it'd be more chaotic and fun to have cards that had different directions so not only are you not sure if the board will be turning, but you also wouldn't know which direction it'd go in! However, the fact that the board does turn makes the game more interesting. Definitely more fun with more people rather than two, though.

Overall, this game is great for those who want to play Chinese Checkers normally or for those who want a new twist on the game. The biggest downside for me was that fact that there were 6 holes missing for possible moves. But it'll be fixed when we drill in the holes. Other than that, it's great.

I played Chinese Checkers as a kid. Chinese Revolution is the same game, except there's a great gameplay feature that sometimes has players rotating a section of the board. All the tokens on that area relocate. It makes you think ahead to win. Great fun. Of course you can play classic Chinese Checkers on it as well. I was surprised how well made the game is. These days toys and games seem to get cheaper and cheaper in quality. This game is made great. It looks so good you're tempted to leave it out, on display. Good for all ages - kids and adults.

Grabbed this game for a family vacation at a lake cabin and played it multiple times. We had kids from pre-teens to their mid 20's and everyone liked it. We even started games over when folks, who were watching, wanted to join in, and that's saying something when the boys could choose between video games, movies or this. Instructions were easy, game is sturdy and stores easily in box, all tokens in place so you know none are missing. The rotating part of the board adds a great twist (no pun intended) and a lot of laughs to the traditional chinese checker game play. At the end of each game, everyone had a chance at winning which kept us interested. The college kids liked it, the teenagers too and it felt good doing something with the family. Buy it, its a small investment in the family.
