I just got back from vacation in Arizona. The next to the last day we played LIKE MINDS. It was a blast from the start and we played it 3 times, and then played 4 more games the next day.
To play you divide into teams of two (although we had 5 players, so one team had 3 players, with 1 player rotating out in each turn - worked great this way). To start play, a category is read and all players write down as many items in the category as they can, keeping in mind they want to match their partner. But there's a catch. Only one player from each team knows how many exact matches (1 to 4) are needed to win. So, when one of these players thinks their team has enough matches, they grab the plastic brain, and all play stops. If you make the goal, you score a big bonus, but miss it and you score zip. The teams not grabbing the brain score a modest amount, one point for each match, but no bonus. We had people playing from ages low 20s to low 60s, but teens could also play.

We bought this game hoping to find a good party game to play with friends. What a great purchase. This game is so much fun. You race to write down items in a category and try to match as many items with your partner as you can. The categories range from "things you find in a car trunk" to "things you eat at a baseball game." Everyone who played this game the first night we played it loved it. I would highly recommend buying it.

If you are looking for a new game to play with friends, this is a great one. We played it for a couple of hours one night, and everyone laughed about some of the crazy answers and matches that were made in the game. I would definitely recommend adding it to your game collection. We played with a group in their 20s and 30s, but I also think it would play well with teens and of course those older than 30s.

Strategy and thinking outside the box with your partner are key in this game.,

If you like games like Scattergories than this game is for you. This takes team play and mind reading to a new level.
This game is played with equal teams of 2 or more. You can play with up to 4 teams but if you get really ingenious you can play with more than 8 people just adjust to "family rules". You are competing to see how well you can match your partner on topics. One topic we had was "things a rock star does" You then all madly start writing until someone (anyone playing) either picks up the brain (or in our case yelled it). You then get points for matching items. I had drugs, guitar, microphone and my partner to everyone's surprise (as it was my brother-in-law) matched me on drugs and guitar (he also had amps and drums). The twist to this game is you get more points on your "roll" if you meet or exceed the secret # you have rolled. This is where the strategy comes in. As only the roller knows the # they have to match and anyone can yell/pick up the brain. We played this game with a group that had 9-63 year olds. We did find that occasionally we would have to restart a topic as the 9year old didn't know it but overall there weren't many of them :) One of the new favorite family games.

We have about 25 board games and this gets played the most. It is very easy to teach someone the rules and everyone is always dying laughing by the end. We still laugh about some of the funny answers months later.
The only "down side" to the game is that it is played best with an even number of people. My wife and i played with my sister and her two kids (5 players) a few days ago and we ended up having one person sit out each game. Each game actually plays pretty fast (about 10 - 15 minutes) so it ended up being okay. You can play with an odd number of people, but i don't find it as enjoyable.

This game has an interesting concept, it is cool to see how common you are with someone in the categories. If you are looking for a casual game this would be good. If you are wanting to compete with your friends in something this is the wrong match. There are a few loopholes the rules don't address well enough to make this fun. There are a few questionable but legal tactics we found that made the game too frustrating to play. Maybe updated or custom rules would fix this. Decent game, but not perfect.

A great game for a group ... divided into two teams ... This way everyone can play and it is a great deal of fun. When asked a question, it is funny to see how everyone thinks their answers are the most logical .... well they might be to them .. but not necessarily to their fellow team mates ... which leads to lots of laughter! The questions are quite simple and everyone can play.
