Anything that gets the family away from the tv for awhile is great. This game offers alot of fun for all ages (ours was 13-53.) We played this game quite a few years ago w/ my nephew and was so glad to find it at Amazon. It is really fast paced. You come up with words that have the letters on the cards before the bomb goes off. I like that it gets you thinking. This would be a good game to keep in a classroom to develop vocabulary.

Purchased this game for family game night and group gatherings. It is edge of your seat, heart racing fun. The objective is simple enough. In turn, state words that have the required letters in the exact sequence. The placement of the letters (beginning, middle or end of the word) is determined by the roll of the die. The hilarity ensues when the bomb shaped timer is in play. As we quickly found out, the alloted time is completely randon so there's no telling when the "bomb" will blow. The player's task is to come up with new words and remember words already stated by the other player(s). No two rounds of play are the same. To up the difficulty, opt for the more challenging version of play where derivatives of previously mentioned words are not allowed.

Good family fun game. Game moves along quickly and is not boring. Educational too. Makes you think fast, and spell even faster.

this is a fun game, but we were disappointed with the bomb. I would have liked the bomb to be loud when it goes off. We still enjoyed it, but my kids would like more of an explosion at the end. Instead you just sit there with the bomb in your hand saying "oh darn".
This is a good game when you don't want to be tied to a game for hours, as you really can quit at any time. I we played it with two 8 year olds too; they did just fine.

Our family loves to play games of all kinds. It is interesting how challenging this game can be. Really makes you dig into that ole gray matter to come up with words.

The ticking bomb adds giggly tension to this game as it is passed around (like a "hot potato") and players take turns coming up with words that include the letters on the game card (ex: ELL so word choices could include "stellar" or "yeller"). For younger kids, we easily made up new game rules, ignoring the cards and playing a form of "categories" (ex: boys' names, musical instruments, videogames) while passing the bomb. One young player just wanted to play "hot potato," passing around the bomb frantically until it "exploded" in someone's hands. I had this game years ago and loved it - the only problem is if the bomb eventually dies and stops working (which did happen after a few years) - you need to buy another game.

This is a very educational game. My 4th and 6th grader really enjoy it. It makes you mind wonder about words, you pick a card such as "Um" you have to complete the word such as Umbrella, all while passing the "bomb" Its an excellent game overall!

Excellent family fun. Quite a hit at grownup parties as well. We had not idea that our son knew so many wonderfully complicated words - or was indeed capable of inventing them as needed!
