Mancala is a fun game, my 6 year old loves to play it.
Caboose
Lovely wooden board but the indentations are rather small and cannot hold many pebbles.

Our whole family enjoys the game and plays it frequently.

Two major things wrong with this Mancala game - the first and more minor is that the box clearly shows multiple color beads but in the actual game they are just blue and brown. Sucky, not as pretty to look at but doesn't affect game play.

A bigger deal, and I think makes it defective, is that the slots where the beads go are way too SMALL. It's impossible to play without having to try to make them fit somehow - balance them or keep them on the side. There isn't enough room for the game to be fun. The board sucks - either beads should be smaller or holes bigger.

I bought this board and mine arrived slightly cracked with a weird funky knot in one of the indents. The pieces are too big for the indents and scatter EVERYWHERE if you have more than six or seven in one spot. I guess that's what you get for $6

Mancala is a brain-stimulator. More than that, it is fun! Our whole family enjoys the game and plays it frequently. "What game should we play tonight?" "Mancala!" Only two can play at a time, so the person who grabs it off the shelf first chooses his/her opponent and the others have to pick another game and then trade. My 8-year-old beats me frequently, which is really annoying!

I like the quality of the board, the glass pieces are smooth to the touch and pretty. I saw this game at the Epcot center at Disneyland in the African area, its place of origin. This set is clearly more practical (folding and storage of pieces), but the game is the same.

i LOVE this game - but THIS specific design of the board and marbles just doesn't work. The marbles are way too big for the holes so as you play and get more marbles in the holes they spill too easily into the other holes - even after just 5 marbles. I have played other sets that worked better. It actually came 1 marble short too so I will need to exchange this for something else.

The wood is not sanded and is covered in knots and splinters. I don't think it's even safe for kids to play with and just looks so horribly cheap. I am returning it for a different one...

What were they thinking when they designed this product? The holes are small and cannot hold more than 5 stones. This kills all the fun of this nice game. I am not one for writing reviews but my 6 yr old begged me to write this one so everyone is aware of it.

She loves the game but not this board. I will be buying another better one soon.

Mancala is a fun game but this set is terrible quality, the pockets are too small for the beads and the beads we got are only two colors (half the fun of mancala is getting the prized, special colors). This set is a disappointment.

Mancala is easy to learn and fun for kids and adults. In fact, kids can play with adults and still have a chance at winning! It's a good way for kids to learn how to count, as well. But it seems the little cups are too small to hold excessive glass beads and they overflow. I would recommend this game for a change of pace from those games with plastic pieces and spinners or die.
