I bought this Dec. 26, 2008 from Amazon for $25 and now a couple weeks later it's $16--that sucks, b/c this was kind of a waste of money.
I bought this b/c I love Disney and Wheel of Fortune, but there are a lot of problems with this game. The biggest issue is: you know how when you watch Wheel of Fortune, and a puzzle comes up on the board, the letters in the puzzle get a white background, and the spaces on the board that won't be used get a green background--so you can see the outline of the puzzle? Well there is nothing to distinguish the spaces on the board that are in the puzzle from those that are not. It's impossible to know any puzzle this way/impossible to play the game. Pretty soon we just got some paper and made a "Hangman" board with the puzzles from the game. Also, the plastic letter board was really hard to get on/off the carboard stand. Also, it came with a piece of carboard with the alphabet on it, a piece of felt, and a dry erase marker-- for keeping track of the letters that had been guessed, but since it was just carboard and felt it didn't wipe off or act like a dry erase board. This too was not practical. Also, it was a real pain how they made you keep flipping back and forth in the instruction manuel to see what letters were in the puzzle. Because of the game's impracitcality it was impossible to play/enjoy, and at $25 it was way overpriced. In theory the game would be really cool, but it was a huge let down. Would not reccommend.

The overall game is nice, however, when my son opened his it was defective. The blue letter board that you slide the cards into was made backwards so none of the puzzles work out. Fortunately, we have an older edition of Wheel of Fortune and have been using that puzzle board, since it was easier than trying to return the product and wait for a new one. My son has autism so trying to explain to him we needed to return his game was not even an option since he had wanted and waited for it for a long time. My experience with Amazon and the quickness of shipping the product was great, as usual, and the game is fun especially if you love all things Disney.

This is a great game for many ages. It is durable and super fun. Any kid can guess a letter and it is all Disney titles for the puzzles. Our children 6,9,11,13,15,16,and 17 all enjoy this wonderful game. I love that it does not take batteries. How awesome is that?

Wheel of fortune is a great learning tool for kids. I bought this for my nephew who is 8 and he loves trying to figure out the puzzles! The only downside is you can't put the puzzle board back in the box without taking the decorative piece off first. Other than that, it is a great game & lots of fun for kids & adults!

Not for a 6 year old... Not for any age... Play hangman instead!,

Only reason I gave this one star is that I couldn't give it zero stars!
First the game says 6+ what a joke! This game is difficult for an adult to assemble and even harder to play. My guess is a 12 year old would have trouble playing the game even if their parents set it up for them. If that was not bad enough the wheel does not spin freely, my 6 year old could only manage to spin the wheel 1/2 turn per spin. Also the "Word" board does not stand up, it tips over when you touch it, and since you have to touch it to reveal the letters this is problematic. So after all of this my wife says, "it will still be fun to play". Not unless you are an amateur cryptographer! In order to solve the puzzle one player has to read from a booklet how many of each letter is in the word and where they a located on the board using a numerical reference to the "word" board! My recommendation is to skip this game entirely and play hangman or buy this game for your game console!

I bought this game for preteen girls as a way to practice spelling. It is a good way to get ready for our trip to Walt Disney World.
The gameboard is difficult to put together, the doors fall down during game if you are not careful and the write on wipe off board doesn't work well. But the girls LOVE the GAME and played happily while sharing so it was well worth the money. It is great to see the girls thinking hard about categories and why some words wont work. |
