Product Description

First patented in England as A New and Improved Game in 1888, then later coined Tiddledy Winks, this parlor game was all the rage in the 1890s - and remains popular to this day. Easy to learn but difficult to master, Winks requires good aim and a steady hand. Players use a large wink disc to press down on a smaller wink disc, which propels it forward into the air. The target is a scoring tray with numbered areas for points: 5, 10, 25, and 100 in the center. The first player to score 250 points wins the game! Game comes with 1 plastic scoring target, 16 small plastic winks, 4 large plastic winks, 4 pieces of felt, and game instructions. For 2-4 players, Ages 6 and up.

Even my two-year-old grandson caught on easily to this game. However, we find we could use a lot more of the round plastic circles, in order to keep the game going. My grandson does best with the larger circles, so it would be nice to have more of those, in addition to the smaller ones.

Playing this game in general - Tiddly winks is fun for everyone. Grandpa and the 3 year old both enjoyed playing.

This specific version -It was very flimsy and poorly manufactured. You get a thin plastic scoring box to shoot the tiddly winks into. a Ziplock container is made of much more durable plastic. The plastic is easily crushed by young kids and the small discs and tiny felt pads just get lost. the felt was so small it was really just useless. For what you get this game should have cost less then a dollar. For this price it should have a specific container for small parts and a more durable scoring cup.

Just like the game I remember from my children. I just purchased it for my grandchildren and are very happy with my choice.

This is a great old fashion game for young children to play on a rainy day.I had it as a child, and we played it all the time!

I grew up playing Tiddly Winks with my grandmother and had forgotten about it until my 4-year-old daughter and I saw it played again on an episode of "Franklin." The game is just as I remembered and still fun. It has taken a little while for my daughter to get the hang of it, but she has a good grasp of it now. The quality of the game is great, with the Winks being solid plastic pieces and the felt being of good quality. The only thing I can see breaking in the future is the scoring cup because its plastic is thinner, but that's not enough to deter me from recommending the game. It's a great game that's simple and fun.

I bought tiddly winks for my 5 year old grandson. I have not been to visit so we haven't been able to play. But I got a phone call from him last week just to tell me it was a fun game. He doesn't call often. His Dad was playing with him and said [in back ground], it really was fun. His 2 year old sister watched till she figured it out, then she joined game. I good time was had by the three.

Like almost everyone else who reviewed this, the game is a good old-fashioned "play with your child or grandchild" kind of game, but the bowl for catching the winks is very cheap. I expect it to crack or dent quickly. So far it has not. I also took a brush and some white acrylic paint and painted the numbers for scoring. They don't stand out because they're just pressed into the plastic. The large white "100" gives the kids something to aim at. Could use a few extra winks, too. We played at my son's home, which is an older home with heat vents in the floors. Those winks go everywhere, and down the vent is not a great place to lose them. Come on, Pressman, give a cent or two to making the game a little better.

There's a reason this game is still around. Fun is fun and that doesn't change. A nice way for children to interact with each other instead of a video screen. Good for hand eye coordination. Inexpensive and fun, a great combination.
