The colors of the numbers on the tiles are like card suits. This game may start rather uneventfully, but when the players start putting more and more tiles on a community playing area, the machinations of playing out your tiles can become quite complex. I've played Rummikub for 30 years and finally had to replace an old set. The colors used in this set are AWFUL. the red and orange colors are to close to the same and make game play difficult especially under tunsten light.
Find a version with the original red, blue, yellow & black.

Basic rules are easy to learn and remember, but the tile combination possibilities are endless. In order to use up all of your tiles, you must create groups of at least 3 tiles that share a common characteristic. For instance, a RUN is a set of numerically sequential tiles all of one color; a GROUP is a set of tiles that are different color variations of the same cardinal number. Joker tiles add spice to the game. Seems simple at first, but strings of moves can get very complicated ! Great brain-stimulating fun for ages 8 to adult.

I bought several games to give as christmas presents
to some couples instead of the usual wine bottle and
they were all delighted. we have gotten together to
play every weekend since christmas. it is really
challenging and the new carrying case makes it very
practical to safekeep.
