Book Description

June 30, 1998
These palate-pleasing recipes will take the pressure off of you and put it where it belongs! Now you can make the most of your pressure cooker (or buy the latest and best with the author's tips) and save time and effort as you make healthy, low-fat, nutritious meals with ease. In less than an hour you can prepare a tender, flavorful roast in rich, dark mushroom gravy. Or corned beef and cabbage with boiled potatoes. In minutes you can whip up Black Bean and Corn Chili with home-cooked beans (not the canned variety that's loaded with sodium). For dessert, produce a spur-of-the-moment Chocolate-Chip Cheesecake Dessert to tempt any chocoholic. Eighty different family-favorite meals are fast to make and fantastic to eat. You also get tips on preparation--such as cutting all meat, poultry, and vegetables to assure everything gets done at the same time, and how to add seasoning in stages for the best results. The friendliest sound in your kitchen can be that gurgling, hissing, clanking pot on the stove. Each recipe has a calorie count, as well as information about fat, cholesterol, and sodium. Sterling 144 pages, 6 x 9.

5.0 out of 5 stars Quick meals, fun meals, good eating., March 28, 2000

I definitely enjoyed this book -- whether just reading the recipes or cooking them. Simple plain meals, along with fancy meals -- it's all here. Tasty and quick, fresh and healthy. I review the recipes and use foods I already have on hand. Everything comes out great. A p.c. cookbook must!

5.0 out of 5 stars Great all around cookbook, November 11, 2002
By A Customer
This review is from: Smart Pressure Cooker Recipes (Paperback)
After flipping through many books at the bookstore, I thought this one looked the best. I really like it! The meals are practical (normal ingredients and standard prep times) and they taste very good. Its seems to be getting harder to find cookbooks that have easy to find ingredients and don't take forever to prepare. This book is worth its price.

5.0 out of 5 stars A wonderful book, January 31, 2003

Robert Drake (Dedham, MA United States) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Smart Pressure Cooker Recipes (Paperback)
I picked this cookbook up after spending sometime trying recipes from Carol Heding Munson's crock pot book, "Smart Crockery cooking." My experience with that book was so wonderful, every recipe was absolutely delicious. When I saw "Smart Pressure Cooker Recipes," I decided to pick this book up strictly on my experience with the crock pot book.

The recipes are generally one page long, a few go on to a second page. The book is well edited so it's very readable and well laid out.

Again, so far every recipe I've tried has been delicious. If you want to buy only one pressure cooker cook book, this is the one.

Happy cooking
