I can't tell you how much this product has helped our family. My dad (101)is an independent cus and is always trying to stand and walk without his walker, or sneak into the kitchen at night for a snack without assistance. This mat (which he hates, "The bells! The bells!")alerts us 24/7 when Dad feels he must be up and about. It's so sensitive that even a toenail sets it off. It's really loud, too, and we hear it all over the house.The only reason I gave it four stars is because it could come in larger sizes (Dad has sneaked around it at times), and the nice long, long wire could be sturdier, as we had to reinforce the contacts with surgical wrap to keep them from losing contact. It's well worth the price, and much thrifier than some other models that we researched. A must for every household that has wandering members.

I bought this product to help train my puppy to alert us when he wanted to go out since he does not bark or whine, just stare at the door. The small size, the cumbersomeness of the product, made it impractical.
