Better acoustics and finish quality than the hyped Littmann series.
No reason to overpay for Littmann. Comparable to Littman Cardiology II series in acoustics but without the high price. Would not be fair to compare acoustics to Littman Classic as it (Littman Classic) is not a binaural stethoscope.

I bought this Prestige Clinical Cardiology stethescope because I wanted a good stethescope for a decent price and this doesn't dissapoint. I was a little bit weary and a little bit scared that I would be very dissapointed since this doesn't have the name Littman on it, but dont be afraid to get this. For the price it is such a bargin compared to littman. I used my girlfriends Littman Classic II as a comparison and boy does this stethoscope blow it out of the water. The clarity of this stethoscope compared to the littman is unprecedented. I listened to my dad's murmur with this stethescope and boy could you hear it with such clarity. The volume of this stethescope is also very loud. Dont be afraid to buy this stethescope, with the price and the quality you can't go wrong.
Edit: Also it comes with a pediatric diaphragm that you can easily change so that you can still retain the bell function

I bought this Prestige Medical Clincial Cardiology last year as a student nurse, when my Littmann Lightweight grew legs. That turned out to be a blessing in disguise, because my auscultation skill suddenly got a whole lot better. I found I could hear better with the diaphragm, and WAY better with the bell, in terms of both volume and clarity. With my previous scope, I could barely find an apical pulse, and with this one, I discovered heart murmurs that had not previously been in the hospital charts! Tell me THAT doesn't rock! It's not much heavier than my previous scope, and equally comfortable to the ears. Also, this one comes with a pediatric diaphragm that exchanges with the bell, and it's a good one; I could hear with it better than I could with the high-end pediatric scopes floating around the unit where I did that clinical ...and in Minnesota winters, pediatric units fill up with a lot of respiratory junk & you're listening to a lot of lung sounds. The pediatric diaphragm is nice for telling which sounds are coming from which lobes in smaller patients.
Two complaints, though: First, the tubing is quite short, and at times, I have had to get closer to patients than I really wanted to be. This can be awkward both physically and culturally. Second, to use the pediatric diaphragm, you have to take off the bell. Dumb design! Changing between these two is easy, but still not convenient to do in the middle of an assessment, especially when you're in a hurry (when aren't you?), and not having the bell for pediatric heart sounds is a significant limitation. If it were made so you could change between adult & pediatric diaphragms, and retain the bell (which seems to be fine for patients of just about any size), this would be a five-star stethoscope. Still, most scopes I've seen don't even give you the option of a pediatric diaphragm. And the good volume and clarity are what you really care about. This is a nice one. Oh, and if you're a new student getting your first stethoscope, don't assume (like I did at first) that a "cardiology" scope is designed specifically for use in cardiology, and may not work well for more general use. The term actually refers to the Y-shaped, dual-lumen tubing, which seems to work well for auscultation in any setting. Nobody bothered to explain that to me. Neither has anyone told me why this confusing terminology continues to be used. This is a good scope whether you're in cardiology or not.

Slightly Disappointed,

I bought this product based on the overwhelmingly positive reviews. The stethoscope, itself, is not bad. I work in an ambulance in a very busy system and use it dozens of times a day. Lung sounds are audible, but not as loud as my Littman (Classic II, not cardiology).
The rubber ring around the bell also keeps falling off, not sure why it does that, but very annoying to fumble with your stethoscope in front of a patient! Overall, it is worth the money and I am happy with my purchase, I just wouldn't say it is the best stethoscope I have owned.

I am a current nursing student and I always had trouble hearing lung sounds and finding my pt.'s PMI using my cheap stethoscope so I decided to buy a better one. I didnt want to spend too much money but i didnt want to invest in something that would eventually need replacing due to poor quality. I was hesitant on this one because it wasn't a littmann but after an hour of research I bought it and I am very happy with my purchace. It is very good I recommend this scope espcially for the price tag!

Very Good Stethoscope for the money,
This review is from: Prestige Clinical Cardiology Stethoscope (Health and Beauty)
Being a nurse I've used alot of stethoscope and for the price the Prestige Clinical Cardiology Stethoscope has been my best one yet. I can hear very well with this product. I've had 3 Littman in the past that I was very disappointed in. I knew the Littman Cardiology Stethoscope was good but to pricey so I decided to try this one based on the good reviews. I'm very pleased and would purchase this product again.

OK quality, poor earpieces,
This review is from: Prestige Clinical Cardiology Stethoscope (Health and Beauty)
I'm a primary care doc, so my stethoscope definitely gets a workout. I find the sound quality adequate. My only complaint is the soft earpieces. They are made of inferior material, and they split, tear, and work their way loose. I need to replace them often.

the clarity of sound is very good. I have a littman lightweight and couldn't hear minute sounds like lung sound but this prestige allows me to hear crackles, wheezes and heart murmurs clearly. Additional pediatric diaphram and bell add more function. Overall the value and clarity outshine the minor drawbacks.
One drawback is the stiff hose so your ear piece tend to shift in your ear as you move the other end to listen. I usually just move my head along. Another drawback is the weight and bulky size of the bell/diaphram. I don't use the bell much at all so I just unscrew it off (feature to change the diaphram/bell). Lastly there seems to be some plays (slight looseness) where the bell/diaphram connect with the hose.

There are plenty of cheap stethoscopes out there, but for just a little more, I got stainless steel construction and lots of extras. It works great, as good as the top of the line models for many times more. It actually is a top-performing instrument and will last a lifetime.
The only problem I have is that too many people want to "borrow" it. But I have no problem saying "no."
