5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent Quality Pressure Cooker
I have been using prestige pressure cooker for almost daily for my cooking from past 3yrs. & had a wonderful experience till now. Not a single complain. Best quality product. Easy to clean up. Heavy bottom, which means nothing sticks to it. I just Love it,Love it!

3.0 out of 5 stars Cooker doesn't come with containers/seperators [10-Liters]
Usually when you a buy a pressure cooker in India it comes with 3 separate containers to cook food. I bought a Manttra (manufactured by TTK, same company that manufactures Prestige) pressure cooker previously and it came with the containers to cook your food. So I assumed that this cooker will come with containers to cook as well and was disappointed that they didn't...

5.0 out of 5 stars You will love it, January 23, 2011

This company has been selling aluminium cookers in India for many years. But only recently did they start selling these stainless steel cookers. I do not have much appreciation for their aluminium cookers as they have design problems like the lid being too loose thereby steam escaping from the lid, worse still, water dripping from the sides of of the lid, or water jetting out from the pressure valve. After all the mess you would only pray your food is cooked to a level that you can eat. It keeps you guessing the kind of show it will put on. When you are really unlucky that day, the safety valve goes off, ending your dream of eating at home.

If you aren't like me you would never buy another cooker from them but me being myself I did. This is the best cooker I have used so far. They took the guessing game out of cooking now. The safety valve is different, the lid snuggles in tightly and the pressure forms very quickly and almost guaranteed to come out of the pressure valve only. The ease of cleaning is noteworthy too. I am having fun again cooking and have forgiven the company for all the bad experiences.

5.0 out of 5 stars Amazingly whistling cooker, March 27, 2011
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This is a great product. Unlike many other pressure cookers we don't have to look for cook time. we can just rely on the number of whistles. It takes 3-4 whistles for beef, 2-3 whistles for chicken, 3 for white and 4 for brown rice depends on how tender you want your food to be. A Great buy.

Fast delivery, reasonable price. Not sure about the life of the silicon pressure release valve before it needs replacement.

The lid is a bit rough while closing & opening. Otherwise, right size for daily cooking.

Very simple, easy to use, easy to put the lid on and remove. This one is a winner in all respects. Great heavy gage material. The deep lid is also very nice.

Pros:
* Stainless steel.
* Priced well.
* Works very well on my GE induction cooktop.

Cons:
* Could have been packaged with some accessories like spare gasket since those parts are harder to find here

4.0 out of 5 stars Small but nice, works well, replete with sound effects., July 4, 2008

This little pressure cooker is made in India. The instructions tell you to take it to a dealer each year for inspection. This is fine, if you live in India! I live in the USA. The pan is in my view, too shallow. A narrower, taller pan would work better as a pressure cooker. I have experienced some of the contents coming out of the stem despite the fact that the pan was not overloaded. I use pressure cookers a lot. The weight should rock a bit, letting out pressure over time. This one does not do that: it waits until the pressure overcomes the weight, then lets out a really long, startling blast of steam lasting several seconds. (Scares the heck out of my dog!) I use this pan, it does work, but it is not peaceful to be around. The fact that the nearest dealer is half-way around the globe is not a confidence-builder. 2011 update:Despite its diminuitive profile, I love this little cooker, despite its limited vocabulary: H*I*S*S!!! My dog still rushes outside when she sees it about to be used - but she's strange, anyway. I mostly use it for cooking carrots and turnip (together) until soft - pour off the water, mash it together right in the pan, make it savory and serve! In 2008 I didn't realize that all Indian pressure cookers are basically blasters. The little cooker is my friend! I think I'm in love.
