I am extremely pleased with my purchase of the Presto 07034 Jumbo Cool Touch Electric Griddle. For a long time, I have used basic stovetop frying pans to cook such things as scrambled eggs, fried eggs, pancakes, French toast, hash browns and a variety of other grilled foods. Unfortunately, the typical frying pan usually isn't large enough to cook larger amounts, so you end up spending more time cooking smaller portions. Not so with the Presto 07034 Jumbo Cool Touch Electric Griddle. With its 10-1/2 by 20-1/2-inch cooking surface, it has twice as much cooking area than a typical stove-top circular frying pan and lack of sides makes turning cooking items much easier. Its non-stick surface ensures that food doesn't get stuck while cooking and makes cleaning the grill a snap! Also, it cooks foods more evenly than my stovetop frying pans ever did!

Overall, I rate the Presto 07034 Jumbo Cool Touch Electric Griddle with a resounding 5 out of 5 stars and highly recommend it. If you have a relatively small kitchen, you may have some problems storing it. If this is true, see if you can rearrange things a bit because the time saved by using the Presto 07034 Jumbo Cool Touch Electric Griddle is well worth it!

This griddle replaced a smaller Presto that I had owned for years before it finally succumbed to age, and I can't say enough about how well this Jumbo cooks. The non-stick surface is excellent, and the spacious cooking area allows you to cook large family meals in one shift. I use it now for just about everything...hot dogs, hamburgers, eggs (even scrambled), bacon, sausage, grilled cheese, fajitas, tortillas, etc. Clean up is easy...just unplug the cord, empty the drain cup and then take the griddle to the sink and wash it off. It is submersible, so there's no fear of messing up the thing with water. Highly recommended!

I bought this griddle because I have a very small stove. I never seen to have enough burners. I only have room for one large fry pan and when you are making eggs and pancakes you have to wait for one to finish before you can cook the other. Breakfast can sometimes take until lunch to make. It's nice too that we can make four grilled cheese sandwiches at once that way the kids eat at the same time. I also like the fact that it has a fat collector that is easy to remove and clean. Since we bought this I have cooked something on it every day. I leave it right on my counter because I use it so much. I would recommend this to everyone.

You would think it would be easy to make a decision about such a mundane item, but when you're faced with dozens of choices and not much time to compare prices, you need to know what's the best deal for your money.

I purchased this griddle in May of 2006 and have been VERY satisfied with it. Like other reviewers pointed out, it has a huge cooking surface, the temperature control unit works accurately and it's economical and convenient to use. There is a handy drip pan to catch bacon grease, pancake batter and the like. Oh yes, and it's easy to clean -- a big bonus in my book. This is probably the sixth griddle I've owned over the years, but so far, it's the best and is a real bargain for the price. A can't miss item.

I bought this griddle to replace a well-worn older one. This one is great. It's much bigger than most of the ones I've seen, but is not heavy or cumbersome. The handles do stay cool and the temp control is easy and out of the way. We hand wash it and the surface is as good as new after several months of at least weekly (sometimes almost daily) use. We make pancakes, bacon, eggs, sausage, chicken, steak, and grilled cheese sandwiches on it. I always use a nonstick spray with it, and it is ten seconds with soapy water to clean it. I did put the drip tray in the dishwasher on the bottom shelf and it melted, so DON'T DO THAT! :)

We are first time users, and loving this product. We just received this product from Amazon last night, and we right away starting using it early the next morning. The set up process was very quick. There are three parts to this item: the griddle unit, heat control unit, and slide-out drip tray plus the instructions booklet. The recommended temperature heat settings for a variety of foods (and their cooking time) are conveniently printed on the instructions booklet. All you have to do to get going is wash the griddle in soapy water and season it with your choice of cooking oil. We prep the night before to make things go smoothly in the morning.

Morning time we used the griddle to prepare three fruit-filled pancakes (7"-8" inch), four sunny-side-up eggs, and 2 slices of bacon in ten minutes flat. It took less than four minutes to preheat to 300 degrees, the recommended temp for fried eggs/ bacon, and just under another extra minute to preheat for pancake temperature (350 degrees). The eggs took about 5 minutes to cook (to our taste), bacon 7 mins; pancakes 3 mins. The food cooked to perfection, especially the pancakes, perfectly evenly browned and fluffy. If the griddle is preheated at the correct temperature for pancakes, the pancake batter will not overrun all over the place. So you do not need to buy the advertised rings as an extra to contain the pancake batter. You will however need plastic cooking utensils (metal is not recommended).

The greasier the food; the greater the smoke, so you may want to place this in a well ventilated area if you are going to be cooking quantities of greasy things like bacon, pork chops, etc.

I am planning on making a copy of the recommended temperature heat settings for the different foods, have it laminated, and placed in a convenient location for my family's easy quick reference when using this griddle.

There is nothing to NOT like about this griddle. I cook french toast and pancakes quite often. I'd been using my square griddle on my round electric stove all this time, which is especially hard when you're making pancakes, you almost have to make them one at a time to get even cooking. We recently moved into a house that has a smooth surface electric stove and it was even harder using the square griddle on the round heat surface. I had watched my sister on Sunday mornings make a whole loaf of bread into french toast and pancakes to freeze for a whole weeks worth of breakfast on her griddle, just like this one. It dawned on me what a great idea. I need one of these griddles. When I looked it up on Amazon first, like I usually do, the price was incredibly low. I purchased one immediately, got it in two days and tried it out immediately. It works perfectly, even heat, that is easily controlled by the temperature control on the attached cord that can be removed so that the griddle can easily be cleaned in the sink. The fact the the outer surface stays cool is just another added bonus. Don't think twice about buying this griddle! You won't be disappointed!

I had this same model for years and years, and finally the non-stick coating just gave out. I was so sad. This griddle fit my space perfectly and was so fast at cooking whatever I wanted! Unable to find it in stores, I looked here and Amazon had it! I couldn't believe it, after all these years, here was the same model. So I bought it. And believe it or not, the non-stick coating has been improved to the point where my salmon patties are sliding across the surface, the handles are better designed, and the master temperature control is easier to read and more secure. I'm actually glad my previous one gave out, because cleaning this one is MUCH easier than the other one ever was! So don't be afraid. This makes great pancakes and burgers and grilled sandwiches, and is a great product all around.

Decent for flapjacks, but they cook much quicker on the right near the power connector.

Doesn't maintain high temp for serious browning though.

For this price my husband thinks this is a great griddle. Pancakes cook really well on this and this is what he wanted one for. He loves it!
