When busy preparing a large meal, it's not unusual to run out of room on the stovetop. It's at times like those that an extra countertop cooking surface would come in handy. The Presto 07035 Cool Touch electric griddle provides a jumbo-sized nonstick flat griddle surface, great for pancakes, grilled cheese sandwiches, filets of fish, or even hamburgers. It's also a useful thing to have in a dorm room or other temporary home that might be lacking a cooking surface. It has a bright white metal frame with stay-cool handles; the frame stays cool, too, on three sides (on one side the edge of the griddle surface is exposed).
The extra-large cast aluminum cooking surface has a slight lip around the edge, a feature that's especially helpful with pancake batter or fried eggs. A slight slope toward the front edge of the cooking surface channels grease through a grease trough into a removable tray; be careful when discarding grease, since it may still be hot. The thermostat probe has a dial setting for cooking temperatures up to 400 degrees F.
Use wooden, plastic, rubber, or nylon utensils with the Presto griddle; metal utensils can scratch the nonstick cooking surface. To clean the Presto electric griddle, wash in warm soapy water, rinse and dry thoroughly. The griddle itself is immersible, except for the temperature control probe; be sure to remove the probe before washing. The griddle measures 24-3/4 by 12-1/2 by 3 inches, including handles and feet; the cooking surface is 20-1/2 by 10-1/2 inches. I love this griddle. It has been a great addition to our kitchen. I especially love it for cooking pancakes, because you can fit about 8 good size pancakes on at once. It works well for cooking chicken or steaks, obviously not as well as well as a grill, or even a George Foreman indoor grill - but is MUCH easier to clean than the Foreman grill. I would probably prefer the Foreman for meats over this griddle if it would clean up easier. This griddle has a drip channel for grease and a cup that catches it, but for me doesn't really come into play because you have to cook really fatty foods for the grease to run off. The griddle isn't sloped enough for the grease to run off. PROS: CONS: All in all, this is a great product. If you like making pancakes as much as I do, then the cost is worth it for this use alone!! I think you will be happy with your griddle!

We used to have an electric griddle that was stolen when our home was broken into. Since then I had wanted to get another one and happened to spot this one at Target. It was a differend so I was a little worried, but I figured I'd give it a shot. All I can say is WOW! This is too cool! Food cooks so easily on this it doesn't even feel like I'm cooking! Bacon, eggs, sausage, pancakes, french toast.. almost anything breakfast can be cooked on here. Omelettes are perfect, even heating and so much room. We cook hamburgers, steaks, hot sandwiches, the possibilites are nearly endless. My hubby can even use it! The grease runs away from the food and into a removable tray so food is healthier than food sitting in a pool of grease in a skillet or fry pan. The non-stick surface works wonderfully so you don't have to add any grease whatsoever and clean up is so simple. Just run it under water and wipe with a soapy dishrag or sponge. The only complaint is that the backstop is too short. I've lost a slice or two of bacon that slid away from me (VERY non-stick surface!) while trying to flip it! But other than that, I couldn't live without this griddle and I highly recommend it. Especially for busy families with little time to cook.

We have had this griddle for about nine years. It's been virtually perfect. After a GREAT, GREAT deal of use the non-stick coating is finally wearing a little thin in spots, but I'm not a faithful non-stick utensil user - sometimes I cheat and use metal utensils on the thing and I also use SOS pads, which I'm am sure are a no-no, just because they are handy in the sink when I'm washing the griddle. The grease cup catches all the grease, the top is perfectly sized (not too big, not too small), I LOVE this griddle. I cannot praise this griddle enough. Simple, reliable, durable - a true old kitchen friend indeed. Enjoy yours as we have ours.
