4.0 out of 5 stars No-Problem Cooker
I have been using this cooker for over a year now, my recent purchase being a second and repeat purchase. It is actually a no-problem cooker and requires no attention at all. Except the lower handle, whose screw could become lose after few months and keeps demanding some action with the screw driver, the cooker is virtually trouble free. For the money I paid, it is a...

3.0 out of 5 stars decent cooker for a decent price
This is a decent pressure cooker for a decent price. It does have a few short comings especially if you are from India and want to cook rice and dal on a regular basis. The cooker does not whistle like one expects from cookers sold in India, if you can overlook the whistles as an indicator of doneness this cooker will serve you well.

over all, we are...

Except the lower handle, whose screw could become lose after few months and keeps demanding some action with the screw driver, the cooker is virtually trouble free. For the money I paid, it is a great purchase. As you would see, I have bought a second one.

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent for price, May 11, 2006

Terrific product, does what it claims.. value for money.
Note: Would recommend pushing in the lid ON, AFTER your stuff starts to boil, especially if you want the water-level to go down slightly. Otherwise, loss of water is very low. It's now almost over a year now, use daily, but NO ISSUES whatsoever - in fact gasket is as good as new and the amazing thing is the body still SHINES!!

I've used many pressure cookers and this one is the most reliable one!
Sturdy, easy to clean and cooks everything quickly & evenly.

This 6-quart is a wonderful size when preparing meals for 3-5 people.

5.0 out of 5 stars Cook My Steaks! And Do It Quickly!, September 6, 2008
This is a fine pressure cooker for the price. Aluminum, not stainless, but I'm not sure I care. I bought this to make a decent reuben, but have only cooked one thing in it so far: bottom round steak; a very cheap steak that normally must be cooked at low heat for over an hour. I cooked one for two hours once in a skillet and it still came out pretty bad. I cooked one of these in the Presto for 15 minutes and it tasted so much better. 6 qt is plenty big enough.

over all, we are satisfied with the cooker and have started tracking time instead of trying to rely on whistles.

4.0 out of 5 stars Great time saver, April 5, 2007

This review is from: Presto 6-Quart Aluminum Pressure Cooker (Kitchen)
Had a previous 4 quart cooker for almost 25 years and used it a great deal. It finally got battered past hope and decided to get a new one. I chose to go to a 6 quart as I had some size problems with some recipes. It was a good move and I recommend this size to all. Cooker arrived nicely packaged, and in perfect shape. First use was flawless and it functioned perfectly on a Beef Stew recipe. I fully expect it last another 25 years. Presto may be less expensive than some, but it does the job well. PM

this pressure cooker works good if u have to get the dinner done quickly and don't have time for the meat to get tender. works great for all traditional Pakistani/Indian recipes. and i would recommend the 6 qrt than the 4 qrt. it works well. but i did have some trouble getting rid of the stains on the aluminum.

5.0 out of 5 stars Presto Pressure Cooker, February 15, 2007
This review is from: Presto 6-Quart Aluminum Pressure Cooker (Kitchen)
After 35 years of ownership, my old aluminum Presto pressure cooker needed replacing. We bought the aluminum model because we felt it was a better value than stainless. It works just as well as the original. Easy to use. Only slight change in design. We have faith it will also last many years.

This pressure cooker replaced a thirty year old Presto. The new cooker works flawlessly, is easy to clean and store, and seems sturdy enough to last for thirty years.
