This item - part 50332 is the 3 piece weight set needed to convert a Presto 16 or 23 quart pressure canner from a gauged to a weighted canner. However the picture used here and the description are grossly inaccurate. This is a 3 piece weight set of 5-10-15 pound weights. 2 parts are rings (only one pictured) that slip on to the 3rd stemmed piece which sits on the steam valve. It is an excellent product for those who do alot of pressure canning. Too bad the photo and description are so misleading as they will only create confusion and cause lost sales.

I have the presto 23 qt. canner and was always busy fiddiling with the flame on the gas range to keep it on 10 psi as reccomended on a lot of recepies. as the 23 qt comes only with the 15 psi regulator. this one has 2 rings that each adds 5 psi you remove one ring and the canner will keep on the set psi. works well as you can see it on the dial of canner.

I ordered this part to use with my 23 qt canner, and it makes canning so much easier! No more getting the pressure gauge checked every year. No more standing and staring at a dial for hours. Just pop this piece on, with the proper number of rings for the weight I want, and when it starts jiggling I start timing. For less than $20,I have made canning 100% easier.

I am buying this product on the recommendation of the other reviewers who are saying that it *is* the 3 piece weight set I am looking for. I am hoping it is the right one, or I will get to review Amazon's return policy. I have not been dissatisfied yet.

ETA: It *is* the three piece gauge! Yeah!

This is worth the money for sur. You can babysit the dial if you want and constantly adjust your heat or you can use this, set it and read a book, watch the tube, eat dessert, etc. As long as this thing is rocking and you can hear it venting rithymically, your batch will be perfect every time!

Many reviews on the internet tell you that the gauge on the Presto pressure canner can become inaccurate over time. This will gently rock at 5, 10, or 15 lbs pressure allowing you to see if your gauge is reading correctly, or needs calibration. Better safe than sick from improperly canned food. Also, this will allow the canner to be used as a regular pressure cooker.

I couldn't wait to use this when it came. It is so much more convenient than watching the dial and trying to keep it regulated. The product doesn't look anything like the picture and came much earlier than expected.

This weight has made my canning effortless. I can sit down and just listen to the noise of it rocking to know that the canner is at the right pressure.

I consider this an essential component for the Presto pressure canner.

I ordered this unit in December. It came as three pieces (what I wanted). Now the description says "1 solid piece". I love having the weight set but I'd make darn sure this IS the set before ordering it.

I made the mistake of ordering this regulator to convert my dial gauge canner to a pressure gauge canner. I should have called Presto first. They said they do not recommend this for my Presto 0175510. Maybe this really does work for that purpose, but Presto doesn't recommend it and there were no instructions anywhere on how to use it for that purpose. So, it might be a good item, I just don't know what you are supposed to do with it. Suggest people call Presto first at 1-800-877-0441 and ask them if you can really use it on your canner.
