The old National No. 7 canners last forever. This ring and the pressure relief valve are all that is needed every few years to keep them going. When you get the ring, oil it well with vegetable oil and do not be concerned that it seems too long at first. The repeated heating of the system causes the seal to shrink a bit. If it starts to not seal quite as well, take it out, oil it again and put it back in with the other side up.

My 88 yr old mother has this very old 7 qt presto pressure cooker (it's over 60 years old). She needed another sealing ring, so I found the 1-800 number of the manufacturer and she called. After she explained what she needed they said to get the part 09907.

After I had read the previous review, I was worried about ordering this part. We were desperate and I ordered it any way. I must warn that the lid must be free of any previous ring, as they dry out and really stick.

At first it seemed too big, but after some effort (scraping the lid once again, applying some spray oil) we wrangled that sealing ring into the lid. Our hands were sore, but it did fit. We used the pressure cooker immediately after and it held!!

I can see if someone would give up but these 2 old ladies were too stubborn to give up!!

My grandmother is lost without her pressure cooker so this was a great buy since she was able to get back to cooking with her new ring installed. Great fit!

Worked and fit well. It saved my mother in law from having to buy a new cooker. Would not hesitate to buy again if needed.

Ordered this for an old 21qt canner that my grandmother was using when I was a child (I'm 42 now). Fit's like a glove and seals great, just make sure you get ALL of the old gasket out first.

Both the outside ring and the vent seal work great (came as a kit). Glad I bought it Amazon as it was priced good and came fast.

This product is great. It was easy to install and the box does not show it but you get a valve for the center of the lid when you buy this ring.
When you replace both things together presto it works like a new one. Now I have to watch it very closely it holds pressure like never before.
I would defenitly recommend this product to everyone. Amazon is a great place to shop.

I'm glad it comes as a kit (the vent and ring). I've used the replacement item which fit fine. The pressure cooker didn't explode. The food was spot on. I can use Mom's ancient pressure cooker just fine. This is a fine replacement.

I bought a sealing ring for my #7 Presto pressure cooker and it worked beautifully. It was fairly simple to install as well.
