Product Description

The sealing ring fits around the inside rim of the cover and forms a pressure-tight seal between the cover and the body of the pressure canner during canning and cooking. When installing a sealing ring, work it into the cover in four small sections, for example, top, bottom , left and right. Work it into the groove a small section at a time until it is fully in place. Place the cover on the cooker body. Put one hand on the top center of the cover and push down firmly. Open and close the cover several times. trying to find this ring for my model pressure canner, I had to turn to the internet for a replacement. This would not normally be a problem except that this was in the middle of the heaviest part of my canning season. I was afraid that I would be without my canner for more than a week while I waited for the part to come in. However, after I ordered this part through Amazon, I received it in the mail within 4 days. When we're talking about canning fresh produce, a few days can mean the difference between setting aside jars for the winter or consuming it all (if possible) immediately before spoilage occurs. I would highly recommend this seller as their shipping was extremely fast, the item was exactly as it was described, and I was able to get back to canning the produce from our garden in short order.

I ordered this seal and placed it in my canner. Toward the end of the second canning session it started to leak just like the one it replaced (that had been in the lid for ten years!) I'm not sure what the problem is. It's not something that you can easily mess up. Maybe this seal had been on the shelf a long time before I got it. Anyway. Not very satisfied.
