Keep a supply on hand,

This review is from: Presto Pressure Cooker Sealing Ring/Overpressure Plug Pack (4 & 6 Quart) (Kitchen)
I keep a small supply of these on hand because, even though my two Presto pressure cookers are only three months old, the gaskets do not last very long and scalding liquids seep out from under the cover--making a real mess on my countertops.
These gaskets are made in China, according to the packaging that comes with them, and I suspect that they are not made as well as those that were produced in the U.S. in the "good-old days." I am thankful that they are available through Amazon.com, and are usually shipped out relatively quickly. If you're going to use pressure cookers, you do need to keep a supply on hand, IMO.

I purchased this product so that I could use my 6-quart pressure cooker again. Since getting this seal pack my pressure cooker works like it did when I first purchased it. If you have a 4 or 6 quart Presto pressure cooker and it isn't sealing right anymore then I definitely recommend purchasing this for it.

I was so proud of myself, my 25 year old Presto Stainless Steel pressure cooker finally needed a new seal and the model numbers were still visible so I made the online order! Well, when it came, I gave it to the maid who promptly removed the swollen old one and replaced it with the exact manufacturers recommended replacement.
Thing is, it doesn't seal, the rubber gasket is way too thin ... Of course she didn't tell me it was loose ... guess she thought I knew what I was ordering ... I had bragged about how easily I found the 'Authtentic Replacement' part! So it was not until I went to use the pressure cooker that I realized no pressure could be built up anymore. Well, so now do I go back to zero and start over or just give up! Not at all happy that the item I bought online turned out not to fit even though all the numbers and models were correctly entered...
