Customer Reviews

Works as described and easy to use.

I Looked at the flush kit cap and coolant was streaming from the center of the cap like a pin hole had developed in it's center.

I bought this at my local walmart & just used it today. It takes less than 10 minutes to fully hook up, and works great! With the engine running, the old coolant is fully expelled in less than 5 minutes.

Steps :

Buy
Open package
Install 2 parts on the car (the "T" & the overflow adapter)
Hook a hose up & turn it on
Start the car
Turn heat on max & fan on high
Let the car run for 5 minutes (or until clear water is coming out of the radiator)
Turn car off
Turn hose off
Remove hose from the "T"
Drain radiator
Fill radiator with HALF of the total coolant capacity needed with 100% strength coolant (NOT 50/50 mix)
Fill radiator with water until fluid begins to come out of the "T"
Cap the "T"
Start the car
Turn heat on max & fan on high
Fill the radiator as needed with water until no more bubbles appear
Turn off car
Fill radiator reservoir tank halfway with a 50/50 mix of coolant & water
Install radiator cap

DONE!

:)

I wish I had bought one of these years ago. This is a big time saver compared to draining and refilling the radiator several times to fully flush out the system (and running the car, and letting it cool, in between each fill).
You cut one of the heater lines and put in the Tee that you can connect a hose to. It comes with 3 Tees to fit different hoses. I even comes with the hose clamps.
You are supposed to cap the Tee, and leave it on the line when you finish, but it is made of plastic, so I don't trust it completely for a permanent installation. Instead, I put in a short piece of standard household copper pipe to connect the two ends of the cut hose , and use the same hose clamps
The large yellow piece in the picture is a nice adder. It snaps into the radiator cap opening and directs the flushed water out and away from the car. You can attached a hose of tube to the end if you want to collect and "properly dispose of" the flushed coolant if you feel so inclined.

After installing the proper TEE to your heater/radiator hose, you will have a permanent back-flush system for your vehicle. Once installed, you attach your (garden) hose to the TEE connector and run clear water to flush your entire cooling system throughout the engine and radiator. I recommend using at least one gallon of distilled water for a final run-through the engine to flush any trace amounts of minerals which are in most water supplies.

After you finish flushing system, remove garden hose from TEE and replace with provided cap. Close any open valves, replace your reservoir hose/line (if needed) and fill your system with (vehicle's specified) proper coolant mixture.

This is a pretty easy flush kit for the DIYer...And you're all ready for the next flush you may do again sometime.

I installed one of these kits on my '92 Toyota Pickup about 8 years ago. It makes flushing the coolant system a breeze. I highly recommend it to anyone thinking about buying it. Don't worry about the plastic T breaking, they hold up just fine.

Flushed my cooling system with this thing, worked awesome, still have the hose hookup on the coolant line in case I want to flush it again.

This is a Great item. I have had this installed on my 1986 GM V8 for years. Iron engine block with Aluminum heads. Once you figure out where to install the T into the cooling system. There are three sizes for different tubes. There are videos on U Tube but they don't seem to tell all. Find the hose from the engine to the valve that controls hot water flow to the Heater Core and your there. When you move the control in your car's climate control from cold to hot the valve will change positions. At least on my GM car. Hook up your garden hose to the back-flow preventer (The yellow and black thing next to the yellow tube in the picture), then connect that to the TEE. Press one end of that L shaped yellow tube (Splash Deflector Tube), right there in the picture, into your radiator. After you remove the cap please. Then blast away. Your old dirty water will come out the top of the radiator. Installing the Tee and removing the radiator cap is all you have to do to your car/bus/truck/ etc. Yes, do read the instructions.
