Book Description

October 4, 2004
The Princess of Disaster is gaining power, and she is draining Leafe at an alarming rate. The Leafe Knights are calling upon Himeno to become the Pretear and destroy the seeds of the Princess, but she is engaged in a battle of her own. Her home life is quickly becoming a war zone. After Himeno's father, a one-time famous author, refuses to write any more, his new bride - Natsue - transforms into an even worse rival for Himeno. And now, Natsue is employing the help of Himeno's wicked stepsister, Mayune. The worlds of reality and of dreams both become nightmare-infested as life is slowly drained from Himeno and the living nature around her.

A Kid's Review
This review is from: Pretear, Vol. 3 (Paperback)
I've read all of these books besides the fourth one and I have to say these books are cool! In the begining it starts of with Himeno a 14-teen-year-old (or 15 year old) girl who used to be poor but now because of her drunken father's marrige she lives in a huge mantion. Her father married a woman named Natuse (I think) who all ready has children of her own. There's manwata who is in 8th grade and Mayune who is some snot in tenth grade. When Himeno is walking in the woods one day she steps on a flower and gets all upset about it. Then a little boy (shin the knight of plants) asks her what's wrong. She tells him she steped on a flower and she's sad about it ( I found this part dumb)and she doesn't want it to die. Then the shin tells her to grab on to his and she does. Then she passes out and has a weird dream about her real mother. Then she wakes up to see a guy ( Hayate the knight of wind) staring down at her. Then Shin and 5 other guys come in and say stuff to her about how the princess of disater is trying to destroy all sources of life and that she is the pretear who will save the Leafe ,the source of life, from eternal death. At first she doesn't believe any thing there saying like the princess of desaster is turning the snow red and the seeds of darkness is what she uses to try to destroy life. But when the first seed appaers she relizes this is her destiny to fight for life and kill the princess. This book is where the darkness is getting stronger and Himeno starts to know who the princess of disaster really is and when Manyune turns evil! This book is great but even if it says all ages it should have been rated teen for this one part in the book that stunk up the whole series for me is when Hayate and Himeno are talking to each other and then Hayate tells her that there is some thing wrong with her shirt and then it gets close up to her boobs and shows that you can see half her bra. So if you expect this book to be some ting you would get for an elemantery kid that loves snow white. Think agian. The only reasons it is called the new story of snow white is there is seven knights (like snow white the seven drawfs) Leafe is a type of apple and "hime" in Himeno's name means princess in Japanese.
