I literally could not stop reading this novel. Rootes creates picturesque descriptions of his scenery and characters, and outlines an intricate and thrilling plot--each page is filled with mystery and suspense. Rootes let's you see the world through the eyes of a murderer and a blind woman; he leads you on an incredible journey that you cannot wait to see through to the end. The book has a serious tone, yet it is humorous and sensual as well. I highly recommend this book for those looking for an adventure. So go read it!
