Worthy of a Pulitzer,
This review is from: Pretty Blue (Paperback)
Riveting...dares the reader to question his or her own beliefs and prejudices about adoption and relationships, in general, all in the context of a beautifully written story. Nominated for an EVVY award but worthy of a Pulitzer! Mark my words...this author's books will become required reading in colleges and other venues.

Emotional Story!,
This review is from: Pretty Blue (Paperback)
Great debut novel from this new author! Pretty Blue is a deeply emotional story with full developed characters. The reader is drawn into Faye Mercury's life and loves and is quickly captivated with her. I didn't want the book to end ... Pretty Blue leaves you wanting more ... I can't wait to read the next novel from this author. She has a gift for story telling.

WONDERFUL!,
This review is from: Pretty Blue (Paperback)
Wow, what a novel! This "one of a kind" story is intriguing on so many levels that it left me wanting to learn more and more about Faye Mercury and the many characters that influence her life. It is a wonderful novel presenting the main characters' struggle to integrate her present identity and the potential of her other identity as Patsy Cage. You feel Faye's inner struggle with her current life and her desire to (finally) meet her birth mother. Will it live up to all of her dreams?
The writer uses wonderful descriptions that brings the novel alive and develops each character in ways that make you feel as if you know them. It is a psychological journey with great character development that ends in a crescendo of an unbelievably, shocking ending! Exhilarating! I can't wait for Ms. Caulfield's next novel....

This was a great bedside read. Ms. Caulfield created a plot and characters that kept me wanting more and more. The authors passions for literature, political beliefs and desire to update the adoption pocedures is evident throughout the entire novel. I look forward to her next novel, and I hope it is a sequel where we can find out what happens to my favorite character, Sinead Wright.
