Music with a Message and a Personal Touch,
By
This review is from: Pretty Blue World (Audio CD)
I first saw Billy Falcon perform in '92 as an opening act for Stevie Nicks. He and John Bon Jovi had just written a song for one of Stevie's albums. It isn't always easy to be an opening act, but he got my attention and he kept it. I ran out and bought the album the next day. You rarely find albums like this that just manage to touch you in so many ways. The opening tune "Power Windows" is a catchy song with a heartfelt point delivered so cleverly. I've found myself playing that tune to friends who I believe would just love the message. Another favorite is "Heaven's Highest Hill," a highly personal song that often moves me to tears. Songs like "Married in the Morning" help balance the album out giving it a touch of fun and rock in contrast to some of the more personal and affecting pieces. If you are someone who is moved by music and lyrics and are still a fan of the singer/songwriter. Check out this album.

I saw this CD reviewed in Rolling Stone back when it debuted, and it got me curious. I went out and bought it, and I was hooked immediately. The songwriting was excellent, the music style was very catchy, for lack of a better word.
I had "Heaven's Highest Hill" on repeat for like a week. Even though I was nowhere close to being married at the time, the song really struck me. The emotion in Billy's voice had convition, made me wonder if he really lost his wife, and that he was raising his daughter alone. I still don't know to this day if it is true, but the song convinced me it is. I always catch myself singing one of these songs. I listened to the CD so much, it has become part of my life soundtrack. "You've Still Got A Prayer" and "Pretty Blue World" were influential in my life, as I had turned by back on God, so to speak, and aided me in turning my faith back to Him. In all, I have stopped listening to certain CDs in my life, because I either got tired of them, or whatever, but I have never never never got tired of this CD. Probably never will.

I discovered Billy Falcon when he performed live on Carson(?) Leno or Letterman(?) in 1991 and bought his CD the next day. I have had the original until a few months ago when the CD disappeared. But I saved the case. What an amazing voice, talent and tribute he gives on this album. Bluesy, Rockabilly and downright great listening; It gets me out of my funk every time! And I won't go on a roadtrip with out it
