Editorial Reviews

Review

Narcissa is a bunny with an issue ... subtle and worthwhile lessons hidden within the humor and trendy figures of speech. Bold, cartoon-style illustrations use speech balloons and sound-effect phrases for added humor.

I believe I now have all of Dave Horowitz"s childrens books and can't say enough good about this author. He can put a new bent on an old idea and takes his story lines to a new level. Hes always coming up with new, unusually eclectic entertainment for children. I love reading these books to my grandkids!! And they listen!!

***SPOILER ALERT***
This book starts with a pretty vain bunny looking in a mirror saying "I'm so awesome." Then she laughs at other animals and is super rude for no reason. A magic frog grants her a wish, but she is too busy laughing at him to notice. So he gives her crazy ugly body parts. Finally, she sees the error of her ways and says, "I wish I could start all over again" and the last page ---wait for it---is her looking in the mirror again saying "I'm so awesome."

WHAT??? That's the end? She doesn't change at all? What a horrible message for kids.
This book would be fine if it had a different page at the end--maybe If she was saying or doing something nice, then I wouldn't hate this book so much.

Read the author's ridiculous bio above and it's pretty clear he has no business writing children's books. We got this as a gift when my daughter was young, and it immediately went in the trash. I couldn't believe the horrible concepts and message here. Even this review feels like a waste of my time. But maybe it will stop someone from buying it.
