This book is a must read!!!! I am a vegan and have read a lot of nutrition books, and this book was outstanding and very inspiring with easy recipes(especially ones that you can substitute out ingredients to veganize). I loved the extra inspiring information on healthy eating and the positive outlook throughout the book that makes me want to make a change in my everyday eating habits to better my life. I recommend this book to every woman for a positive guideline on how to fuel our bodies properly to feel good on the inside and outside. Changes are made over time, and i believe books like this will lead women to happy and healthier lives through better eating habits. Thank you Candice for making the book easy and fun to read to inspire women all around the world :)

2011 New Year's Resolution = Eat Healthy. What's new? My problem lies in the fact that, I am not one for diets aka I need to eat food that tastes good. Every time I hear.. "healthy food can be yummy" I would roll my eyes and call BS! It doesn't mean I did not try! I stumbled upon Pretty Delicious through a blog and tried the platinum mac n cheese. My husband and I ate the entire pan (probably wasn't a calorie cutter but it was healthy!) We have tried a few more recipes since and let me say DELICIOUS! Yes, I'm sold! She also has COCKTAILS!! I cannot give up my boozy brunches. If you are hesitant.. the book is really PRETTY :D

This cookbook is amazing! I have a bad habit of buying cookbooks and then never actually cooking out of them becuase either the recipes seem too complicated, need expensive ingredients or somehow just aren't "right." This book is the first that I actually use regularly. I love that the author uses wholesome ingredients to create "real" dishes. By this I mean she showcases the ingredients and does not hide them. It is a testament to the fact that healthy ingredients truly are delicious.

I've had the book for a few months now and have made the following recipes:
- blueberry bran muffins - lifesavers! I freeze these for a great grab and go breakfast
- spinich artichoke dip - Yum! Hubby didn't even know this was reduced calorie
- cucumber tea 'wiches - love this for a light lunch
- mushroom and potato pierogies - very hard to roll the pierogies and form them - it took forever and i didn't get many well formed pierogies. However, the filling is DELICIOUS and sometimes I make it as a side for dinner
- 3 veg curry - yummy, homemade indian sauce. I love this one - total comfort food
- spicy soba with shitakes and peas - yum! great lunch option. I never tried soba noodles before but I found them easily in my small town grocery store and was surprised that they are low calorie, high protein and high fiber. Wow! The only suggestion I have to to try to find reduced sodium noodles if you can, they are really salty
- platinum mac and cheese - GREAT but i suggest omitting the garlic powder. I also added freshly ground pepper and reduced the amount of salt. I want to try it with added broccoli next time to add some veggies. I was VERY skeptical of this recipe because it uses 3 cups of almond milk which I thought was really weird but it came out really well. don't be afraid to try this one!

THANK YOU, Candice for this beautiful book that makes these healthy and nutritious recipes so accessible and... Pretty.

I cannot recommend this book enough. Up until a few months ago, I only knew how to scramble eggs and bake but then I got Pretty Delicious. The book is absolutely gorgeous and the recipes are healthy, meaning you don't have to indulge to try them out! Buying a few key ingredients and spices allows you to try out a multiple recipes which is great because no one likes buying that one bag of something for a recipe and then finding it in your pantry years later. The recipes are straight-forward to prepare and absolutely delicious. So far, I've tried 25 recipes and only 7 were baked goods! Some of my favorites are the hummus, spinach and strawberry salad, no-cook balsamic beans, eggplant and mushroom saute, and the banana-oat chocolate chip cookies. Also, I've had success partially subbing out sugar with Stevia and AP flour with white whole wheat. Get the book, learn to feed yourself. I used to survive off frozen meals and now my freezer is full of home-made veggie lasagna and asparagus chickpea soup.

Bonus, Candice is one of the sweetest people ever! I've made the brownies a couple of times and while yummy, I can't get them to stop turning out like fluffy chocolate cake. She took the time to respond to my e-mail and give me some tips for next time!

I'm a novice in the kitchen, but Pretty Delicious inspires me to cook. With Candice Kumai's entertaining voice woven throughout her provocative recipes and fun advice, I now look forward to creating special meals for my family and friends to enjoy. What a transformation... I was never satisfied in the kitchen, feeling overwhelmed, anxious, and inept to prepare dinner, but I finally found a best friend-- Pretty Delicious-- to help me fall in love with cooking!

The beautiful layout of this cookbok makes each recipe easy to understand and its story, relatable. This is a cookbook that will live on your countertop or coffee table. The recipes are stylish, healthy (she substitutes ingredients but truly maintains key flavor), and unique. The "Food w/ Benefits" (FWB) chart, tips and advice, and vegetarian/vegan symbols are user friendly and very informative!

Pretty Delicious is for every woman out there. Cheers!

I love to cook and I am always looking for new healthy ideas. This book is written perfectly for the girl in the kitchen looking for fun new recipes. It is not your ordinary book with a simple boring recipe. The book is "pretty", literally, as the title mentions. You can hear Miss Candice Kumai speaking the recipes to you...If you have ever watched one of her shows on television you know exactly what I am talking about. Candice is witty and fun and her humor adds a great element to the cookbook. I just love the FWB (food with benefits) section she has created! I am a vegetarian and have found that the recipes can be altered (and Candice offers veggie meal recipes as well). This amazing cookbook has me very excited to cook new meals every week. I recommend this cookbook to anyone who is looking for fun healthy meals!

I bought this book because I enjoyed Candice's work on the Lifetime show "Cook yourself thin." The recipes in the book are healthy and delicious. My one (minor) complaint is that some ingredients need some tweaking. For example, the Platinum Mac and Cheese really does not need the garlic powder (too garlicky). I also tried the Pumpernickel and Lox recipe which was delicious but the extra sea salt called for in the recipe made it a bit too salty. I would give this book 4.5/5!
