Book Description

October 11, 2005
Three sexy bachelors with big plans.

Longtime friends Rice, Coach, and Geffen can't believe it when they see an abandoned property just a stone's throw away from Rodeo Drive -- the dilapidated wreck is more haunted house than Hollywood high life. But when they enter the massive estate with their best friend and realtor Sunnie, they see a great financial investment. A fixer-upper with room for a gym and a sauna. A cavernous hall for swanky celebrity parties. A hideaway for seducing the ladies...in other words, a place to live large and dream big.

A foxy she-devil out for revenge.

But Sunnie senses all is not right with the house. Turns out it is already occupied by a supernatural vixen who resents the intruders and vows to use her shape-shifting powers to dispatch them -- not with violence but with an equally lethal weapon: sex. Morphing into each man's fantasy lover, she takes them one by one to heights of ecstasy designed to torment their souls. Only Sunnie, armed with an extrasensory gift and some very powerful prayers, can take on this devilishly gorgeous demon -- even if she has to pay the ultimate price.

Editorial Reviews

From Publishers Weekly

Pretty absurd, more like. Alison "Sunnie" Clark is an honest real estate agent and a good church-going woman with a special gift for discerning evil spirits. Sunnie won't sleep with her plastic-surgeon boyfriend, but her three best friends are players of the highest order: Rice, a bestselling mystery author; Coach, a womanizing pro football player sidelined by an injury; and Geffen, a money-hungry playboy. All three spend more time chasing tail than praising God, so Sunnie promises to find them the perfect Beverly Hills house for their get-rich-quick plan (an exclusive bed and breakfast/party space) if they commit to go to church. But the house she sells them, a former upscale brothel, crawls with evil, as Sunnie senses from the get-go. Its inhabitants, a ghoul named Crèp and a nymphomaniacal she-devil named Vixx, are determined to prevent the three handsome men from settling into the house. Vixx finds creative ways to wreck their lives, transforming herself into each of their dream women and bedding them in every possible way. The men learn lots about themselves, of course; Sunnie finds love; and the power of prayer wins over all. A nonsensical plot and eye-roll–inducing preaching make this a dull and sludgy read.

More About the Author

I live in Southern California where I write full time. I believe in chasing dreams, working hard and prayer. PRETTY EVIL is my debut novel. Reviews and reader feedback have been GREAT. It's a joy for me to write and for people to "get it." I love that, especially since what I write is "out of the ordinary". PRETTY EVIL has been described as everything from paranormal, romance, suspense, thriller, erotic, Christian, comedy, fantasy, horror to chick-lit and urban. Whew! But you know what? It's all correct! I never got into this business to be easily categorized. Boldness in creativity is a good thing.

5.0 out of 5 stars Pretty Amazing, October 20, 2005
This review is from: Pretty Evil (Paperback)
The book was awesome to put it mildly. It had a combination of Christianity, love, jealousy, revenge and the power of God wrapped in one powerful punch. You hated the guys and Sunny one minute and loved them the next. The suspense in this story was unbelievable. A demoness, Vixen, has just a few days to rid herself of the three bachelors who have bought her former brothel before she is banished forever. What she doesn't count on is a Christian with a special power and love for her friends that conquers all evil. I read it in two days and can't wait for Lexi Davis' next novel.

I finished reading Pretty Evil last night and I agree with NY Times bestselling author Zane, Mary Monroe (author of God Don't Like Ugly), LA Banks, the National Romantic Times Book Club, CushCity's Book Club, Book-Remarks, Nubian Sisters, (...) and ALL those other authors, book clubs, reviewers and readers - This is a GREAT book -
creative and fresh. Not like anything else I've read lately.

5.0 out of 5 stars Unexpected Twists, October 11, 2005
This review is from: Pretty Evil (Paperback)
This whole story was a twist. It was fun watching characters go thru all the supernatural stuff but not know. Vixx the demon bad girl was hard to forget. The author's style was light, not too slow. Good unexpected happenings. I rate it with my top 10 of my favorites so far this year.
